Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club
About
Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club is a Scottish links-style layout that is routed through sparkling lakes and carefully preserved conservation areas. The challenging layout features narrow tree-lined fairways and water hazards on all 18 holes. The front nine is short and tight, which contrasts nicely with the longer and more open back nine. Overall though, the golf course is not particularly long by modern standards. It is a shot-maker's course, requiring both accuracy and skilled iron play. The course has a challenging finishing hole that sums up the best elements of the course. This par-4 is a sharp dogleg right with a slew of bunkers and a pond to reckon with. The hole borders a nature preserve, making it the prettiest and most challenging hole on the course.

Hidden gem no matter who you are
Great track and don't let the yardage from the back tees fool you. You better hit it straight and leave the driver in the bag on several holes. Great condition, smooth greens - paid $10 and played in 2 hours as a single at noon on a Sunday. Will definitely be back
Always in Great shape
Even with all the rains in the area(21 straight days) the course was still in great shape. It was cart path only and the fairways had plenty of wet spots but it was still very playable. Greens had be recently sanded yet still rolled quick and true.
The staff is always friendly and the pace was nice. It gets in the mornings, especially when the snow birds are down but afternoons are always good for a quick round. The conditions never disappoint.
Great condition
I've played this course occasionally since it was 1st built, we always enjoyed the course. It is manicured now, even with recent airification, we enjoyed playing there. It's a 20 min drive from North Tampa, very reasonable,
Beautiful course - enjoyed it.
First visit, and I was impressed all the way around. There are water challenges throughout, but not unfairly. The course was not crowded on a Saturday morning in June - played as a threesome in 4 hours even. Great food and service in the clubhouse. I look forward to playing the course again soon.
This course is challenging for any skill set.
I love this course. It might not be as long as some other courses but the tight greens and pin placement make it difficult for even low handicap players. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The course is always well maintained.
nice course north of Orlando
We were surprised by a 1:00 shotgun start. I guess that's how they do it all the time. It puts a strain on the staff to have 100 people coming off the course wanting service, and 100 people going out and trying to get a sandwich. The course was in good shape, fast and firm even with rain earlier in the week. Lots of water, and a nice mix of right to left and left to right. It's only 6200 yards, but you must keep the ball in play. A yardage book was a must for our first time which the pro shop was able to provide. This was a long drive for us, but we will make this trip again. They also have an executive course which we will save time to play next time.
Top shape
Course in top shape. Will come back for sure! I would bring my friends anytime.
Fast!
Lightning fast greens and pace of play 1pm in season ! Very few people on the course on a beautiful spring day
awesome golf
this course will humble you, water on every hole have plenty of balls
great greens to putt on!
The course layout is good, tough in certain spots with water on most all the holes. The fairways were a little thin of grass, but growing in it appeared. The greens made up for the fairways! They rolled smooth, true, and were the quickest I had played on while vacationing in FL. Great greens to play and putt on. Will be back to play again and again!
Watch for 17
Every time that hole stops a good game but that is fine. Glad it is well marked where to travel on street to next hole.
Course was in good shape
Greens were very fast. Most greens seemed to be fairly true. Traps and rough were well maintained. Over all condition was excellent and a treat to play.
A rejouer!
Tampa Bay 18 Holes
Challenging course with fast greens. Straight shooters will have an easier time and should par many holes. Price is reasonable and after 2 PM, course is near empty.
POOR GREENS
CONDITION OF THE GREEN WAS TERRIBLE. LOTS OF WATER. NOT MUCH TREE TROUBLE AND MOGULS ON SIDES OF FAIRWAYS.
A revisit after eight years
A demanding course requiring carefully placed
tee shots to avoid ubiquitous water hazards along and across fairways, while rows of housing or woods
line the opposite side. Important advise to any golfer
thinking about this course. It is very susceptible to
storm water from a day or so earlier. After a few dry
days the course should be well worth it.
WATER WORLD
SHORT COURSE BUT LOTTSA WATER ON THIS COURSE SO YOU BETTER HIT EM STRAIGHT OR BRINGS LOTTSA BALLS.
Challenging Course!
I love coming to this course to play. Hitting a straight ball is a necessity to score well on this course. There is water on almost every hole and some very tight fairways. Every hole has something challenging and interesting. Definitely not a boring course to play.
Great course
Awesome course. Fairways are open. Not many houses in the way except a few par 3's. Full practice range available. Doesn't get much better except for when it's a hot deal
A course you should play
This is the second time we played this course. It is an awesome course with water in play at most holes. Course management is a must. Enjoyed playing the first 4 holes then we caught up to a member foursome so we waited at each hole. We passed them at the 10 as they went in to the clubhouse, before we teed off they returned and demanded their position again, so we waited at every hole again, this pretty well ruined the entire day.
Still, I would recommend this course.
