Older course but has so much potential
I was shocked from the start of the first green! It was if the greens were a softball field mound. I live in Jax and meet up with a friend of mine in the Orlando area once a month to play different courses. Unfortunately, this will not be a course of choice again!
The course was in poor condition; everything was rundown.
The course was in poor shape; everything seemed to have been neglected for a long time; even the water fountain was broken on the back 9. The day was extremely hot and water surely was needed
Needs work
Greens were really bad. Fairways were also bad in some spots. The layout is really cool. Lots and lots of hills, which you can't find in florida. I wouldn't pay more than 12 bucks to play 18 holes here, at least during the summer
The course is in desperate need of attention, greens and fairways.
The greens were not in putting condition. Sand or some type of topsoil was on every green. Fairways was mixed with crabgrass, dandelions and bare sand. Course has a nice layout but the codition was worse than a City run course.
Course Need A Lot of Work
Played this course with my buddies who had grown up playing on this course. While we had a good time, it was obvious that the course needs a lot of repair work on nearly half the fairways. While we played the greens were nearly unplayable since they had just been punched and sanded. We knew that going in so I can't complain about that. I would wait a couple months to go back and see if the current maintenance pays off.
poor
Rough shape needs tlc. This is a beautiful layout just not taken care of
Fun old course.
I like this course and the elevations. The price is good and the layout is fun. It is one of the older courses in the area.
The course is not being taken care of.
I used to play at this course regularly. This was my first time back in a long time. It was fine back then; now it simply is not being maintained. Fairways have some good areas, but problems everywhere. Greens, they search for a good place so they put the flag.
Step above a goat ranch
Golf now package came with cart, lunch & range special. Pro shop had no idea what the range special was supposed to be. Didn't have range balls available. Grounds and club house area in poor condition, several green had as much sand on them as the traps around them. Won't play this course again.
Rough around the edges but OK for the money.
Greens hadn't been mowed, however, they're scheduled to be punched this week so I figured they thought, "Why bother?"
Odd occurence where group behind us hit a tee shot into a tree just behind the tee box we were waiting in. Normally no big deal, but no one called "Fore" and the ball ended up hitting the roof of our cart. Again, not unheard of, but we then realized that one of the course employees was at the their tee box when this shot was made. He was driving a cart marked "Ranger" w/ an orange flag. He drove past us on his way back to the clubhouse and didn't acknowledge the incident at all. Not good when the course "Ranger" watches this and just drives on by like nothing had happened.
Nice layout but very bad shape
Will never play again since the course condition is very poor.
This course would be good if maintained
The greens are in poor condition with bare dirt in some places. Most of the fairways are in similar condition Some of the holes include elevation shots which are interesting.
nice hills for longwood
I like this place a lot, if you don't hit the ball straight you will have a challenge on your hands
IN NEED OF A LOT OF TLC!
In the past this course has been pretty decent as far as getting what you payed for. However, on my last visit (4/13/13) the course was in deperate neeed of attention. The fairways has weeds that were shin-high, the bunkers needed sand, the greens seemed as-if they had not been mowed for over two or three days. Definately not worth the $25-$30 I spent. For that same amount I could've gone to Deer Run or Twin Rivers and at least the greens would've been decent.
Course need attention.
Easy course; few challenges
Great course for those looking for few obstacles and an easy day out on the course to relax.
The lay out is nice
The fairways has a lot of beer spots. Greens have tough brown spots. Some of the ponds were almost dry. Problem with watering.
love it will be back - rolling rolling along
great greens- birds of paradise everywhere- free beer at finish- best burgers in orlando- rolling rolling hills
hole in one- need i say more
