Great course
Great course. Wish they had more than one beverage cart given they have 2 18-hole courses. We played the Hills course in about 4 hours and didn’t not see the cart girl a single time.
Nice scenery, rough condition
Overall the experience was nice. The practice facilities and course layout was good. Overall, the course was in rough shape. Lots of weeds and bare patches on the majority of the course.
First time playing The Hills Course
I’ve played The Orchard Course a few times, this was the first time I played The Hills Course. First off, I really like the chipping area and putting green. Both the courses are very nice and are in great condition. The only disappointment was due to new ownership there was no alcohol available. All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly. I’ll be looking forward to coming back soon.
Needs a little TLC
The greens were in good condition, which is important to me. The course could use a little manicuring due to dry areas and lack of mowing in some areas. The course is fun to play, you just have to pay attention to the slope of the ground on some holes. You need to favor the left side on many holes.
Lincoln hills - hills course
Good condition and pace of play. No alcohol license yet so not beer from the cart girl…..
Great condition.
Course was great. Nice and firm. Greens were probably rolling around 10/11. Bunkers need some attention.
Hills Course Has Hills
Went out for a Sunday afternoon 9 holes with my father in law. Course was in good condition, fairways a little brown which is typical for some courses in N. California this time of year. Greens had just been aerated and sanded which would have been nice to know before starting our round. The greens still played nicely, fast downhill and a bit slower uphill.
Great day , except....
Was a good day to start. Was lil cloudy and cool, light breezes. That changed. And it was excessively windy by the 5th hole. Windy play is stressfully difficult on the Hills course.
Getting to the course... The fairways were ok. Seemed a bit dry, but we're in a drought. Greens looked really good from distance, and when close as well, but something was off.
Though they were in good shape, (grass density, under layment, moisture), they looked as if they were just cut, but were furry. It was that they may not have been rolled, and possibly that the blades on the mower need sharpening?
I hadn't seen balls ever stop here, going downhill on greens, this was a first. Example, A playing partner, ran past the hole on the par 5, 16, I believe, from the back and the ball stopped going, down and away from the hole on a ridge. I mean that's great for some people and reasons, but the pace kept us guessing as putts came up consistently short for the group most of the day. I play tips so I didn't notice as much, but the regular men's and blue tee boxes need some help.
This has been one of my favorite facilities in the region, but for the price increase, I feel they could be better, as they were previously, say 2-3 years ago. It's a good deal if you get a special price, but hard to justify at full price.
