Moorpark Country Club - The Canyon Crest Golf Course

I love this course! It has some challenging holes that you have to hit a great drive. I will be back, a lot!

The aeriation special was so good that I skipped work! Have your A game to play this course. I've been waiting for a long for a great special. This course isn't worth it's usual 3 digit green fee.
There was no sand in bunkers.
What makes this course hard are the winds that are in play on all holes. A lot of elevation changes on CREST 9.
If you're a beginner, you won't have fun. There was a beginner twosome who backed up the course. The marshall should have put them behind the traffic jam. He warned them to speed up play but when you're a 250# hulk who has no idea where the ball is going, what can you do?

Provided the green was aerated, the green had patches of area without any grass...

I'm writing because I'm hoping that Golf Now will do a better job of alerting customers up front when a course is or has been recently aerated. I love Moorpark Country Club but was disappointed after I had already booked it online to find out that once I had gotten to the course it had the greens recently aerated. My cousin and I were chewing between 3 different course to play that day and had I known it was aerated we definitely would have gone to play a different course.

The fairways are in great shape as are the greens. The changes in elevation change provide a real challenge that keeps your interest for 18 holes. The views of the countryside contribute to the enjoyable experience

Moorpark is one of my favorite courses in the area. I've rarely had slow rounds there, and the course is always in great shape. Many holes feature breathtaking views, and the fairways/greens are set up to provide a nice challenge to both intermediate and advanced golfers. Highly recommend it.

Had a very enjoyable twilight around out at Moorpark Country Club! The two 9s we played were challenging yet fair, with very few gimmicky shots. The greens rolled fairly true, but were so soft that they did carry residual spike and shoe marks from earlier in the day, which did impact the roll. That was really the only issue I had out there! I guess I might have been disappointed in some of the golfers ahead of me who failed to fix their ball marks on those soft greens. Disappointing from a largely member-played club. Many thanks for the starter/range minder from Camarillo (Marlon?), who was very kind and polite, and seemed to be enjoying his retirement job!

Country club style with very hilly/target style golf course, so bring few golf balls. Greens were rolling true, fairways and tee boxes were good. I paid $47.50 at golfnow, great deal.

Love the course, but booked a twosome and tried to cancel one of the reservations due to sickness. Repeatedly tried to call golfnow and waited on hold for 15 minutes at one point with no success in contacting an employee. I have been using your service for years and never had any problems. Would appreciate if you could review my reservation and consider refunding one of the players, or, giving me a credit for my next golf outing. Thank you. Michael Sweeney

Noice course, play smart. Lots of areas that require carry. Some fairways very narrow

I've played most courses in LA and this is the best. The greens are in amazing shape. A real treat.

The course was beautiful and lush. Restrooms we're all clean and easily accessible. We didn't have to wait and it was as though we had the course all to ourselves so they don't over book tee times.

Down. Greens roll pure and with exception to a few blotchy fairway spots the entire course is in great shape. Enjoy

I love Moorpark it's a tough course but if you do some homework you can avoid trouble (some holes require leaving the driver in the bag). My favorite 9 is Creekside (drivable Par 4) and Ridgeline is my second choice. The staff is great, the grill is great (try the Moorpark dog......bacon.....nuff said)......and the pro shop is well stocked)!!!

This is a long way from where I live in West LA, but I play this course (and also Rustic Canyon around the corner from it) anytime I can justify going that far to play. That said, it's hard to understand why the fairways are so moist, greens a bit spongy, and no apparent reduction in fairway coverage. Is Moorpark getting rain that the rest of California isn't? I mean, if we're only going to fully irrigate a few courses, this should certainly be one of them, but it is difficult to understand this level of irrigation at this stage in the drought. Would love to hear that Moorpark has figured out a better way to grow grass, but I fear it's not the case...

Well kept up, great pace of play and worth the $ to play everytime I get a chance.
