Journey at Pechanga
About
Journey at Pechanga was built on the ancestral land of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians. The land is also home to "The Great Oak," one of the largest natural growing, indigenous coastal, live oak trees in the U.S. It is estimated to be anywhere from 850 to 1,500 years old. The golf course was carefully carved from the rolling hills that stretch Pechanga Creek to the surrounding mountains. Great care was taken in creating the course in order to preserve the beautiful land that has been home to the Pechanga Tribe for countless generations. Mature California oaks frame most of the holes and the dramatic elevations provide breathtaking views of Temecula Valley. The challenging layout will reward accurate shot-making but will punish any errant shots.

Larry and Griff Pechanga
Play golf with my son on his birthday. Golf course was open. The staff was awesome. The golf course is always challenging and I enjoy playing it in the afternoon in the wind I would recommend this golf course to anyone who likes the challenge and playing in the wind.
Worth a detour
Hidden gem which doesn’t get much attention. Course is partnered with casino and everything was first rate . The clubhouse was clean, had great breakfast choices. The staff in the Proshop and starter were first class. The course itself was in outstanding shape. Great challenging holes which offer many choices in shot making. GPS on carts was very helpful and helped pace of play. Zach said it is now one of his favorite courses in SoCal to play and will bring out of towners to play here when visiting. Make the drive you won’t be disappointed.
Perfection
I am fortunate to play golf all across the United States. This is as good a value as you will find. The staff are great, perfect conditions, pace of play fantastic if you get a chance to play this course do it
Par Excellence
I cannot understand anyone that would give this place a bad review ever. The staff were great, conditions fantastic, price great piece of play like you’re the only one out there everything about this experience was perfect more golf courses need to follow their lead
Nice.
Want to golf the best course on SoCal make a tee time here!! Hands down from the practice facility to the course and staff.. amazing!! Can’t wait to come back!!
Journey worth the trip
Love playing Journey! It’s one of the very few courses properly marshalled- they let groups out every 15 minutes; so by the time you finish the first hole the next group starts. Feels like you have the course to yourself.
fun and challenging layout, but punched greens
This course is a lot of fun, with several elevated tees and some great views. The biggest downside was the greens had been aerated recently and were very bumpy. I realize all courses need to do this, but they should let golfers know before we pay $160 to play. Very disappointed.
Another great time
Staff as usual was very friendly from pro shop, cart staff to starter. I got there 1.5 hours early and they were very accomodating in getting me out within 45 minutes. Overall course was in good shape but I was hoping the greens would have been in a little better shape after punching 10 days earlier. They were much slower which made lag patting easier but it was hard to make anything within 15'. The layout is breathtaking and the afternoon wind makes the course very challenging.
This course is beautiful, green and unbelievable views. It was in meticulous shape. The golf cart was so comfortable. We would definitely play this course again. I recommend having lunch beforehand..great food eith great views
Lack of info
I’ve played Journey 7-8 times and it’s always nice. I purchased this tee time through golf now and didn’t know they just punched the greens. It was on the page you pay for it on at the top rather small. It should be on the page when you select the course, I feel like it used to be. The price wasn’t discounted either, a low rate might have gave me a hint something was up. Layout is fun, $130 is steep, but cheaper than a nice place in OC. The gps is good except you have to touch the screen at least twice a hole to get rid of ads or other useless information. Super annoying, I know you have a snack bar! Still a fun play, just make sure you look close to notifications. I usually don’t think of punched greens the last week in May either.
Terrific layout, with beautiful views.
Rating would have been a 5 but the greens were recently punched and heavily sanded and there was no indication of this when booking online. Was very disappointed after driving an hour and 15 mins. to play and probably would have gone to another course if I had known the conditions. This was my 3rd time playing here in the last 3 months and have thoroughly enjoyed the layout and scenic views etc. and the people are exceptional so will probably play here again, but will call to be sure the course is not in a state of maintenance!
Spectacular views
The elevation changes and views are amazing. I was informed that the greens had been recently aerated so the condition of the greens was not a surprise. The layout is awesome, but pretty hard. Be prepared to lose a lot of golf balls of you don't hit it straight off the tee. There are 300+ foot elevation changes from tee to fairway.
Excellent Golf Experience!
The Journey is a unique layout with many challenging and unusual holes. Bring your A game because you will need to hit it accurately and putt and chip well on the undulating greens. Course conditions are excellent. The carts, range, chipping areas and associated facilities are fantastic. Staff is friendly and accommodating. This is a great course to play and look for a deal since green fees are high as compared to other area courses.
