The Palmer Course is one of two golf courses at La Cantera Resort, it is named after its famous designer, golf legend Arnold Palmer. Firmly situated on 225 acres of Texas Hill Country, the golf course features plenty of elevation changes to keep golfers on their toes. There is also an abundance of mature oaks covering the course, requiring accuracy off the tees. The unique layout incorporates dramatic waterfalls, lakes, and numerous white sand bunkers throughout. La Cantera Resort’s Palmer Course has several signature holes, most notably the fourth hole. This demanding par 3 requires a long carry over a lake with waterfalls along the front of the green.

Great value
Course was ion excellent condition. Pace of play was good. Cart girl came around enough to make sure we had drinks. 3 players I played with were good. I would and will continue to visit the course.
Got rained out
We were getting around quickly since most people cancelled due to impending weather. We managed to play 10 holes before the lightning started. The staff gladly issued rainchecks for 9 holes. Great course but the price is rather high. Could be why it was one of the few places available in town.
Inside staff detract from the course
The pure golf was great. The service inside was the worst I have ever experienced in all of my years traveling to play golf. If you don’t mind paying top dollar to play a nice course and don’t mind terrible service before and after, this is your place.
If you don’t mind paying top dollar and want great service then go to Barton Creek in Austin. They’ve got this figured out for golfers that appreciate the game and don’t mind the cost to play these caliber of courses. Totally disappointed in the experience this time at La Canterra Palmer.......both days.
Good test of golf
Challenging layout in a beautiful setting. I would not hesitate to recommend this course.
Never Fails To Deliver
Every time I play here I have a great time and are treated great by the staff. They’re friendly and always go the extra mile to make sure I’m taken care of. I highly recommend you play here.
Outstanding course. They appear to not oversees for the winter, so the fairways were brown. Great elevation changes and scenery.
One of the Best in Texas
Tris si one of the best golf courses in San Antonio and Texas. Very challenging with high hills and steep slopes.
My only recommendation would be to provide the tool and ask to all golfers to do their sand traps, as a courtesy to the next golfer is playing.
Resort golf with a challenge
The Palmer course is a great challenge. Not for the faint hearted or beginner golfer. Many twists and turns and changes in elevation. Heavy bush on either side of the fairway making it important to hit straight and know your club distances.
There were numerous holes where we wanted to go back and play it again cause only discover the surprises of the hole after you play it.
Overall a great course and well worth the cost.
