Fun course for a weekend outing
Greens need a bit of work but for the most part they are smooth and the course is very forgiving. Great for beginner play through intermediate.
Poor condition
Greens were atrocious. Fairways weren't much better. Tee boxes were pretty bad as well. Spend a couple dollars more and play at any number of other brevard county courses that actually takes care of their course.
Greens are in bad shape
Normally, the greens are in good shape but 70% of the greens were very rough. I heard they had some algae problems or something. Do not play until the greens are better.
bad greens good fairways
The greens were awful had to pur because they were in bad shape. Everything else was alright would not go back. Friendly service
Course needs work
I played this course 6 months ago and the condition then was okay. Some of the greens were brown and patched. Hopefully the summer rain will improve them.
Firt 2 holes terrible
The first hole had a temporary green and the fairway was awful. The next 2 hole were also in bad condition. Things began to smooth out as far as course conditions after the 3rd hole. It was playable from there on out but not terrific.
Terrible Greens
Over the years this course has never had very good greens, with some particularly the first hole having bare spots or burned out grass. But this is the worst they've been. Hopefully the circles painted in some of the fairways are for temporary greens to be used during a major redo.
Nice little layout
The price was right but I've seen it in much better condition in the past.
WORST COURSE EVER
Have played here when it was in fair shape, but now by far the worst golf course i have ever played.Played greens in Illinois in January that were in better shape. No need to bring your putter wont help. They are spending money on the cart area but not a dime on the course, stay away for now.
Poor conditions
I've played this course several times but this might be my last time. The fairways and greens were in the worst condition I've ever seen them. For a few extra dollars I can play Duran or turtle creek.
Practice course
I play Mallards Landing as a practice course. It offers a variety of play scenarios to improve your game. The greens are inconsistent, ranging from a waffle greens to one thats burned and denuded. Kinda makes putting a very big challenge. But overall for the convenience of its location its ok.
Could be great course
The course plays well but greens were 7 days out on ariation and not in best shape. wish would have known.
Mallard's Landing
We were paired with another two-some , and waited at the 1st tee ( no stater present ) for our tee time .... 1st hole was open .. after 10 minutes , when it became apparent that no one else was teeing off ahead of us , we teed off 3 minutes before our 11:52 tee time .. Given the time of year and the fact that the greens had recently been aerated , I enjoyed the course . Mallard's Landing is a links style course which made miss-hit shots less punitive . The course was easy to follow for 1st time players , and the 2 staff members I encountered were somewhat helpful . There is a driving range off the club house , and a putting green next to the 1st tee ..
Go and enjoy , it is a " feel good " golfing experience .
mallards landing
Course was fair, value was good, staff was kind of cold not too fond of golf now, arrived at 9:05 for a 9:52 te time attendant was reluctant to give us cart or receipt at that time even though we were going to hit some balls first
Playing this course takes time.
This is a great little hometown course to play. But figure on 4 1/2 to 5 hrs to play. Foursomes no matter what will not let faster groups around, pace of play is like a snails pace. I have played this course at least 7 times this winter and only one group let us pass at the 10th hole only to get behind another foursome at 11 who would not let us pass. This is my only complaint on this course.
An easy course
It is a good easy and fair course. You can do it under 4 houers.
Played it twice
Actually played it twice over 4 days. Once in a big wind, we were a threesome between a foursome in front and an impatient Michigander (twosome). The pace of play was slowerr but fine. Second day was perfect. Great conditions with a foursome. Greens not great largely due to folks not fixing ball marks. A nice course.
The Staff needs help
I booked online for March 10, 2014 and when I printed the coupon it printed March 11, 2014. I didn't notice this until it was pointed out by the extremely rude man at the desk. He said "come back tomorrow!" which for me was impossible. I asked if I could get on today and he said no problem but you will have to pay full price. I asked if there was some way he could honor the coupon and he said "sure, tomorrow!" At this point my friend and I paid the full price and thanked him for his advice. I don't believe I will ever go back there. As luck would have it we played with two members of the staff who were on a day off. They told me " It was the last day for the guy in the pro shop who was retiring" They also said they were having a retirement party in his honor however he wasn't invited. Not surprising
open play, fairways in good condition
Good "go-to" course fo easy round to play. Not too difficult. Average greens condition, but tee box condition is often poor.
golf etiquette
We had a nice day, except for the group behind us kept hitting into us. we (three) were moving at a 3 1/2 hour pace so we thought it was very rude and ignorrant of them.
