mallard's landing
the course has really declined since the last time I played it. (1st week of Feb.) The greens before were pretty lush but left a little long so they were very slow. Now they were sparse , patchy, bumpy. The fairways a little beat up so you should play the ball up. I only played the front nine as a thunderstorm washed us out.
okay course
This course was very similar to one we play in Peoria IL, but with more bunkers and water. Could have been a course we would normally walk but rode since it was the first time playing. Enjoyed our day just wish it had not been so windy.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff
Long challenging course but the some of the fairways and greens are in poor shape.
Good features
A very good course for women. The distance for women is very fair.
Somewhat challenging, but very good course
We play here a few times when we're in Florida, and it is one of our favorite courses.
Course layout is above average
Very little grass on the fairways. Greens were like Velcro. Beautiful weather and playing with good friends made it tolerable.
This course is a nice relaxing course to play
The fairways are generous with few out-of-bounds to contend with. The greens were in good condition with some challenges.
The course was in good condition after some heavy rains the day before. We had a windy day.
We were not rushed, as there were no golfers immediately before or after us.
We stopped for lunch after nine holes and the food and service were very good.
Overall, it was a good day on the course and we all enjoyed playing at this municipal course.
Fun Day
Course conditions were a little over rated, staff was friendly, some tight fairways, but in general ok. Green were a little slow. Over all, good value.
Really chalenging with the water hazards
Great course greens were nice and fairways. The staff is friendly and I like the driving range they are marked for distances.
Holiday
Average course that's an average to below average challenge. Some awkwardly places water hazards on a couple holes: 20 yards from the front of the green.
great value
Nice course and convenient and the price is right I golf here weekly
Good outing!
Greens on slow side, but nice variety of holes. In pretty good condition.
Second that review!
This is practically a neighborhood course but I still only play occasionally as I like to move around. One of the more recent reviews mentioned the slow & bumpy greens & that's basically what we got. It wasn't that bad & I'm not a great putter to start with. The course was in good shape otherwise. The thing that really bothered us was the golf eticate of the 4-some in front of us. At least 2 of them were from out of state, as I heard them on the first tee. Anyhow, the course opened up in front of them & no one was behind myself & my partner. At no time did they allow us to go ahead. That burns me. BUT that doesn't affect this review. Not a bad day to play in Melbourne.
course getting in a little better shape
the fairways have better lies and most all greens have grass on them. the work they have been doing is starting to revevse some of deteriotion of the greens. still don't put worth a darn, but good for practice .
Nice layout...good walk
Mallard's Landing provides a good test of your game. Tees are flat. Fairways are both wide and narrow. Greens are true and reasonably bunkered.
Mallards Landing
Nice course. Wide open. Great for beginners, but has many water hazards.
I wouldn't come back..
The greens were very uneven, slow and bumpy. They need to be mowed and rolled out. There could be a little more direction at check in, this was the first time we have played at this course and received no direction. We are frequent players in brevard county so this was a little put off. It would also be beneficial to have cold coolers of water throughout the course, the water fountains were luke warm for refills. I enjoy a little nature when I'm playing a course and this course is pretty much all condos the whole round.
This is a long course .
My only complaint is that the greens are well kept BUT they are VERY ,VERY slow and the need to be cut lower.
Course was average condition for this time of year...Fairways could use some attention , greens were fairly slow and had some rough spots on them.
Course was average condition for this time of year. Fairways could use some attention, the greens were slow and had some rough spots on them were they have transplanted the grass.
