golfnow.com is great
good discount and good savings. Great way to book t-times
Course
The course needs work, but getting better. The staff was outstanding.
This was a fun and challenging course
We had a great day of golf! The greens were a little rough because they just got done aerating them. But all in all it was a great course
The course is very well laid out. Has some very challenging holes..
We had a great time playing a round of golf!!!! The greens were a little rough because they were just aerated. All in all we would come back again!
amazing to see grass growing on a lava field/canyon of rock
dry, fast conditions...greens are good, slopes are outrageous.
All the greens are hour glass shaped, u cannot miss them left or right, but long and short is normally manageable to get up and down...
Interesting layout, dry, needs TLC, built on red dirt and rocky foundation.
This course is nestled in the lower foothills between Paradise and Chico. As you drive up to it, from the Skyway, you can see the back nine with it's interesting layout of lots of rock, red dirt, dry California grass, and Valley Oak trees outlining the contoured fairways and greens. Because of the dry soil conditions and rocky underlayment, it could be rough on your clubs, if you're not careful. Especially if you stray off the fairway, because you will be greeted with the rocky grounds, the oak trees, dry red dirt soil and grass environment, I mentioned earlier. The greens are firm with lots of interesting contours and breaks. And the fairways can give you enough challenges to manage. In my opinion, the course needs some TLC. The ball washers are inadequate and usually dry, the golf carts have seen better days, and the cart paths and some fairways gives you an off-road experience. If the maintenance crew is out, some are courteous and will let you play through, while others won't. I usually only play here on a GolfNow hot deal.
Very challenging setup , could b in nicer condition however
Had a lot of fun playing here. This course will really test u mentally and u had better hit it straight here. Greens are in fairly good shape but a lot of the rest of the course could use a little TLC. There are some really long big greens on this course and if you just hit it onto the edge of the green here you might leave yourself a 100+ putt up or down an intense slope. Though it is challenging there are opportunities on this course to score. I would recommend this course especially if u can get out at a discounted rate. Overall, even though its not in perfect shape, this course is fun to play.
Dry, poorly maintained
This course is fairly terrible in my humble opinion. The bunkers are full of dirt instead of sand, half of the course is dry dirt instead of grass. The cart paths are unspeakably worn down so your cart is constantly bouncing up and down to an extreme degree. There is virtually no shade on the course. That about sums it up. FOr the same money, go play Bidwell Park golf course.
Cheers.
Course was in good shape. Very hot outside so there were not many players
Played 27 holes in 4 hours. Greens were fast & true.
A few challenging holes, a few blind drives.
This course was challenging. I personally lost 4 balls and I don't lose balls very often. Be careful in summer and book early, it gets to be VERY hot here.
Good for the right price
This course is in fairly good shape could use some work especially around the greens. A little frustrating when you hit your drive down the middle of the fairway and the ball hits a rock and bounces out of play.. Had a fun day pretty view!
not bad, some greens were being watered mid day on sunday (mothers day) which made putts inconsistent
You pay for what you get, this course could use work on the cart paths, they are more like off-road atv trails.. some greens were wet and some werent on mid day Sunday overall not bad but could be better with care
The Tuscan Rutt Club
Put aside the bumpy greens, the no-sand and sand traps, the pot holed cart paths and I'd say it was a beautiful day to ride a golf cart through the foothills of Chico.
Blue tees. Several tee shots require a minimum of 200 yard drives.
Rough is rocky and could damage clubs. Too easy to have to look for your tee shot. Our group played slow because of difficulty finding our tee shots. The fairways had too many spots where the lie would be like hitting off hard pan dirt.
Spring is a great play here. Could be pretty hot/dry as summer progresses.
GolfNow is a great service. Very nice to have promotional prices available. thank you.
fun day nice course
nice course good price golf now was very easy to use and will use again
Skinny Greens
I liked it it was very enjoyable the layout was very fun and hilly, Lot easier course if you keep it n the fairway
Good course, great prices, some holes need attention...
I really like the layout of this course, and some of the views while playing are great. It is also nice they have a grass driving range. The greens were in pretty good shape, but some of the fairways need a little attention. The course is in naturally rocky terrain, and there were a couple fairways with some gravely areas. The green fees through golfnow.com came with a cart, and I was surprised to see the carts were equipped with gps. Overall this was a really good course for the price, and I would definitely recommend playing it.
The course has nice views of the valley.
The course itself was average but the golf carts are still needing alot of work. One cart had no GPS and the other had very poor brakes. Price is acceptable at your reduced rates.
A course built on a ridge with lots of challenges...
Ok... The course was not in the greatest of shape but than what course really is! The putting greens were rolling true and fast. This is a narrow challenging course requiring some great shot making in spots. Try it for yourself because this a hinden gem in the valley.
for local golfers looking to improve their game..it can be helpful to play tuscan on occasion, however, for friends driving more than 30 mintues ...i would say dont make the drive...go to table or bidwell...not the course's fault, just the tuff growing conditions on a lava bed of rock...no slam on the staff or golf course is intended...they are making do with what they have there...and at least, it isn't a dry gully like its surrounding environment...Kuddos to the hydrologist who designed a system to water it without watering the surrounding canyon 2...
