Nice course-- Slow play
We have played at this course before but never experienced a 5 hour + round. No marshall to be seen, and very frustrating experience. Otherwise, the course was great
Great Day for Golf
Great weather. Pace of play was good to follow along. Slight damp course and certain wet spots. Overall great course.
Nice ocean breezes
Great getaway and worth the drive from the SF Valley and it's 97 degree heat . Both courses are nice and the people are friendly...
Decent course
No issues, other than the 5-some in front of us that slowed things down a bit. Good value on Golfnow App.
Great Greens
I have been playing this course for five years and I have never seen the greens in such great shape as I did today. I played the Vineyard course and the pace was a little slow, 4:45 min round. Some of the bunkers need some work, wet and muddy……..another reason to stay out of the sand! The customer service is always top notch!
Course making come back
Course was in best shape I've seen in over 2 years. Hopefully it will continue to stay that way. I played the Lakes Course.
Nice track, worth your while to check it out
Overall the Victory Lakes course was in good condition and the greens were in great shape. If only there was a way to fine golfers $5 for every green divot not repaired. So sad when you have to fix 2-3 divots before each putt. However they were quick paced and putts rolled true. Fairways were cut short and allowed for great ball striking. The holes are well balanced between gentle right and left dog legs. Par 5’s we’re challenging but fair as we’re the par 3s. The course was adequately watered in the fairways and the on the greens.
The two courses need major repairs to bunkers, fairways and tee boxes
Played in a two-day tournament at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, CA. While I think the staff are nice and friendly and the pace of play was not too bad for tournament playing, there were some significant problems with the course. First, the driving range is probably the worst in the area. We were hitting on very worn mats, balls need replacing, and you hit into what appears to be a movie set for WWI trenches and bunkering. Tee boxes were very thin and many dried or overused portions. Fairways were inconsistent. However, the poorest conditions were the bunkers. Unfortunately, I hit into many on the two day tourney and they were, simply, terrible. This course is minutes from the beach and yet sand was sparse. We are in the middle of summer yet many were full of mud. Not standing water but mud and wet. While I do not consider myself a bunker whiz, I had so many shots where my club skipped through the ball because there was 1/4 inch of sand on the bottom. At the least, they should take a machine and groom each bunker. It’s embarrassingly bad. Workers caring for the course conditions simply have no pride. While everyone should rake after their shots, there were so many footprints and divots in the sand it was just frustrating. Whoever is maintaining the grounds is definitely not taking care of the bunkers. I will leave it on this point. Unless I had to play in a tournament there, I would not waste my money. Los Robles Greens, Rustic Canyon, Moorpark Country Club are all nearby courses that place the conditions of this course near the bottom. Maybe Camarillo Springs has worse conditions but that is becoming a toss up.
5.50 am tee, Sunday 6/25 at river ridge vineyard course
Course was in very good condition. Tee boxes are a little rough here and there but overall, the course is in its best shape in 3 years. Water/ rain is amazing!!
Greens had just been rolled and were very flat and smooth. A great morning. 3 hours 45 min to walk the course with two others.
Best bargain in the area
For the money RR cannot be beat in this area. The back nine on both courses is interesting and challenging and the course is generally in good shape (nice greens this time, although hole placement was questionable). Friendly staff, nice snack bar, and above average warm up facilities.
Worth every penny
The course was in great shape and the pace of play was fantastic for a holiday.
