Review
All was well. The greens had been sanded very recently but they rolled true. Fairways were in great condition, as were the tee boxes. The rough was rough, as was proper.
My only complaint was that they could have arranged for a bit more breeze. But then, if we thought we could control the weather ...
Always Great
The course is in great shape! Fairways and greens were exceptional. Frequent visits by cart attendant and lots of cold water around the course! Pace of play was excellent!
Worth the drive!
Fairways are generous, undulating and great grass. Greens recently areated but healing well... slightly slow, but very playable. The only negative is placement of tees too close to the overgrown waste area grass immediately in front of tee box. Couple were less than 5 yards from 6ft tall grass, impossible to get driver over. Great place to play for the $39 green fee. Would not pay the $129 rate....choose tee time wisely.
Recently Punched Greens
Recently punched greens is my only ‘downer’. Fairways and bunkers are perfection.
If you have never experienced links golf, I suggest you give The Tribute a try. And if the wind is blowing off the lake, bring your A game!
Tribute to The Tribute
First time in Dallas playing The Tribute. Very Enjoyable Round! Loved the course layout and conditions were outstanding that day. Only drawback is that my brother and I played after five and we ended at dark. Two reasons...
One, we weren't permitted to drive our cart on the course off the cart path to locate our shots and two, their was a couple that jumped in front of us at the turn that played extremely SLOW on the back nine!
Otherwise it was a great day! Loved the GRIFFINS at the entrance to the parking lot/clubhouse. That was my old high school mascot, and I had to get a hat with the griffs on it.
Easy
Really open and challenging but not to hard for your average weekly golfer as long as you can drive the ball straight then you’ll be in good shape
Played this back in July and the course was in good condition. I liked the fact that everythign was out in front of you. No trickly holes etc. Played with 3 other guys and we had a good time. The greens are challenging since there is a lot of shape to them seemed like everything moved.
Fabulous time
Stay in bounds! Rough is thick so you need to stay in most fairways. Greens are true and firm. Great layout and look forward to playing again especially when they offer a great rate!
A must play course
If you can get a good rate from Golf Now, this course will be the Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow.... I played 3 courses while in Texas, this was a standout course... beautiful everything, and very fast and true greens!
Good deals lately
Best course in north Texas for 32.75. Been wanting to play this course but didn't want to spend 65 dollars even for a hot deal. They sanded yesterday but it wasn't that noticable. For real get those deals while it lasts.
Great course!
Extremely hot and single-digit wind so we were baking for most of the round, but it was still enjoyable. Tee boxes, fairways, greens were all in great shape! It's always surprising how many people don't repair divots, but other than that the greens were perfect. The practice area is very well maintained and range balls are complimentary. Pace of play was the only downside as it was a 'hurry up and wait' kinda round, but we were still able to finish in just over 4 hours.
I highly recommend this course!
Great links course!
I have played Saint Andrews and was impressed with this course! Staff and club house was excellent! The course is in great shape!
A Hidden Gem
I can't afford a trip to Scotland, so this was the next-best thing, especially with the cool and grey skies overhead making it feel like a true Scottish links. And to top it off, the architects did a phenomenal job replicating some of the most famous holes from some legendary courses.
Course is in immaculate condition. There was some standing water in a few places, but it poured with rain the entire prior night and most of the morning so it's completely understandable. Only complaint is the greens, which were recently sanded and generally very slow, but somewhat inconsistent. Certain holes were lightning-quick while others you couldn't hit the ball hard enough. Nonetheless they were at the very least smooth and lines were readable.
Playing partner and I were kind of all over the place, and with cart path only rule in effect we wound up doing a lot of walking to and from our ball the entire afternoon. Nonetheless, we finished in almost exactly four hours. It wasn't the busiest day because of all the rain, but course marshalls were present and active, making sure things moved along.
Twilight play green fees were highly reasonable for a course of this quality as well, and their Players Club makes the fees even cheaper. Will happily come back many, many times.
Overpriced and overplayed
Great layout and nice people cannot overcome $129 green fee for average conditions. Bunkers need attention and greens slow. Maybe $90. Maybe.
Scottish adventure
The course layout was great and it was fun playing the links type course layout. I was a bit annoyed that the greens were sanded and we were not told about it when we made the booking. Overall the course was good but there were areas where the course needed to be manicured a bit better with weeds around the edges of the bunkers making a great course look very average in places. That said still a good experience but not sure worth the $90
