Awesome Course!
Fairways were immaculate, greens smooth, holes classic. 4 hr round on Monday late morning.
Fun course at a reasonable price
This course was just fun, the links style layout was probably as close as I’ll get to playing a course in Scotland and the staff was great.
The address on golf now is NOT correct. The right address for this course is
1000 Lebanon road
Hope that helps someone avoid being lost/late for their round
Very Nice
Wife and I played. Really fun layout. Caught a day with little wind so I suspect it played a little easier and the greens held due to previous day rain, this also made it cart path only. With the wide fairways it resulted in a lot of walking. Pace of play was good for cart path only. 10 min between groups vs some other courses tee times only 7 min apart. Barely waited the entire day. Greens were sanded and a little slow. Ate lunch in the bar, service was good, but food came out a little slow. The sandwiches were quite good and plenty of food for the money. Overall among the best courses in the Frisco area
One of my favorite courses in Dallas. Some of the pin placements and greens are ridiculously hard though. Putting here is tougher than a mini golf course with the slopes and ridges. Miss your put by an inch an it rolls 20’ away down a hill.
Fun layout
The Tribute golf course lived up to its name and was a fun track to play the week after the British Open. Getting to see replicas of the Scottish links only makes me want to make a trip across the pond even more. The course conditions were fantastic even in the extreme Texas heat. Firm and fast were the fairways and greens. Unfortunately there was no Marshall to speed up the glacial pace of the group in front of us...:plumb-bobbing from two feet?! My only complaint about the course was the height of the Johnson grass masquerading as fescue on the front of the tee boxes. I don't see the point of having to worry about the driver clearing the five foot high grass eight feet from the tee. Other than that it was a great experience and I hope to play there again.
Great shape
Everything is in fantastic shape during this heat wave of 100 plus days. Greens are rolling true and I don’t recall seeing any bad spots.
Tee boxes are good. Fairways and rough are also fine.
My only reason for not giving this course 5 stars is because they didn’t fill the on-course water containers this morning. A major no-no during the summer. Thankfully the beverage cart saved me from dehydration.
GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER
You’re looking at reviews to try and find a new course to play. Stop. Just STOP. Take the advice of Shia LeBouf and DO IT. Practice balls were provided on the range, the practice turf was incredible. Short game area looked nice (didn’t have time to practice.) Play the correct tees and the fairways are forgiving. The Championship Bermuda greens are better than wherever you play. That’s just a fact. It’s worth the $89, the $129, heck if it was private it’d be worth whatever the initiation fee required. If that all doesn’t interest you and you like to drink your face off more than play golf, the cart girl was around more than my wife is at home.
Why haven’t you booked yet? Still not convinced? It’s all based off of the Scottish Links, the birthplace of golf. It does it’s best to replicate holes from some of the major courses there. If you don’t get the feels a bit on the 1st tee, a replica of the 1st at The Old Course, then you don’t have a heart.
It was literally the greatest experience I’ve had playing golf. The only thing that could have made it better is if they had a caddy program and I could have walked the course in 60 degrees rather than in a cart playing in triple digits.
H O T
We played on a 104 degree day. I must say that's the hottest I have ever been playing golf. The course is in excellent shape. especially for the amount of heat we have had. Can't wait to get back.....maybe when the triple digit temperatures subside.
Good course, a bit price
Overall it was great!
Course is in good conditions, specially for this time of year.
Fairways were pretty dry and greens were hard and crusty but didn’t affect play at all. ( a bit more water would help)
Staff was friendly and pace of play was great, never had to wait to hit a shot!
Course layout was really cool ( much better than tour 18 and course in much better shape )
Spectacular
Golf at its best. Spectacular course - greens were firm and fast but putted true. Worth the money and the drive to play this beautiful course.
Elite Course
This course is a tribute to others around the world but unlike other courses that attempt this (and fail miserably in resembling conditions) this course was perfect. The greens here are in the running for best in DFW in terms of condition, speed, color and undulation.
While these holes aren’t “original” to the architect the execution in building this course and matching the conditioning was a slam-dunk. This course is a great piece of art and I’ve yet to play this course in the same wind direction/speed. Something as simple as the routing of this course makes it play substantially different day-to-day which is very reminiscent to a true Scottish links course.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Course is in great shape and greens are fast. Pin locations are challenging.
Fitting name for an ode to Scottish links
The Tribute is a fantastic course that is obviously much tougher than it looks when the wind plays heavily into every shot. Greens are large, so simply getting a GIR isn’t enough. The challenge was fun, could get frustrating, but nothing that being selective with your clubs couldn’t overcome. The course is very well maintained with some of the best greens in DFW.
Staff friendliness is top notch as well - from the greeters, to the shop, to the starter, to the cart girl constantly making rounds, and marshalls spotted circling various holes. Can’t say I could pay the price every weekend, but it’s definitely worth the price to play if you’re looking to ham up for an elite course and worth the trip north of the Metroplex.
Greenkeepers
Very strange occurrence - while approaching the 18th green a member of the maintenance staff start trimming the front edge of the 18th green preventing us from hitting our shots to the green. Then while we were on the green the same staff person started the gas motor and started trimming while we were putting. This situation reflects very poor training and sensitivity of the guests on the part of the staff at a high fee course.
