The Tribute in the Colony
I like playing this course. Play from the black tees and can just about use every club in the bag. The day I played the Greens rolled very nice. Pace of play was pretty good. 4 hour round at 8:12 in the A.M. on 6/10.
Gives me an idea of links golfing. They provide cool towels/water.
Great experience at this course
The overall maintenance of the course is excellent and it presents a different kind of challenge compared to the typical courses out there.
Great One of a Kind Very Unique Golf Course!!
Great golf course.
The Tribute is the only (to the best of my 2018 golf
knowledge) golf course that offers (in a great modern setting) very accurate reproductions of famous British Open golf holes (mainly Scotland)!
The Tribute
Its nice to see that The Tribute is back in Fighting shape! The greens are maturing nicely and the fairways and bunkers are in top form. This is one of the better courses in DFW.
Excellent Conditions
I have to say this is the first time I have played since the greens were redone. The only issue was hard tee boxes but I suspect that is more of a weather issue vs. maintenance. The greens ran fast and true and hardly a divot to be found. Asides from the hot weather, with wind and the conditions it felt more like how this course is to be played. As well as being more like Scotland .... Go play and enjoy your round on an amazing replica course !!!!!!!
Highly recommended
As the title says, really enjoyed playing this course. I was nervous about the width of the fairways and the lack of trees. I knew it could not be as easy as looked, and I was right. Every hole was challenging for a mid handicapper, but it was a hugely enjoyable change of pace from the normal DFW course where you're just plodding down a patch of grass between two rows of houses over and over. Course was in awesome condition. Can't wait to play again soon.
Got it back
Conditions are much improved from last year. Very firm greens roll a little slow but true. Highly recommended.
New Green Fast/Pace of Play Not So Much
The Tribute is my favorite course to play. I love the experience of the playing the replica open holes. The new green (replaced last golf season) we extremely fast and did not have much bite, and I hit the ball high. This might be purposeful to mimic the open courses, however that is a change from the previous greens. The pace of play was slow due to the short interval between tee times and the grouping (ie 4some, 3some, 2 some, 2some etc) However, I really enjoy the course so the longer pace is acceptable to me. Have fun, land short on the green, and eat a sammy as you wait. Lastly, the green rolled really nice for putting!
Pace of play is great if you are a snail! Tee times 6 minutes apart stack this course with too many players. For the price I would expect better pace of play than a muni!
Windy day
Nice and challenging course because the windy conditions. Friendly staff and good pace of play.
Windy Open Championship-Esque
The course was designed to be a tribute to great open championship holes and on that end they nailed it! could really see the holes and how they compared the originals. 1, 17 and 18 are straight from the old course and it was a unique golf experience in the heart of Texas. The greens weren't the best but ive never played these type of courses in England to know if they were just not great or just true to form with their replicas. Incredibly windy day blowing 30mph the whole time. Playing into the wind might as well put the ball in my pocket and take the double. True Open championship conditions.
Course is in great shape. Greens are awesome and I’m glad they let them firm up a little. Last time we played the greens were extremely soft and slow. Be back to play as soon as possible.
Fast Greens
It had been a while since I played The Tribute and was pleasantly surprised with the conditioning of course. Greens are fast and in very nice condition. Traps where in decent shape. Fairways still have tight lies, but that should be expected in March. I will be planning a trip back to the Trbute soon!
