Great Value
took my son for his first round ever--he scored a legit par on hole #6. Course was pretty quiet, but much more green than a year or so back. There are some added tee boxes to add distance and difficulty. One par 4 (254 yds) Greens were being aerated--some were in rough shape. Some holes are very easy, but you can't beat the price (I paid 5 bucks) and my son will now be playing with me more often. For a par 3 course I would give this place a solid B.
Good For Iron Play
This is a nice little course for beginners and others who want to work with their irons. They have a putting green, driving range and an area to work on your chipping. The price is very reasonable. The course is in good shape, greens and sand traps are OK. Nothing extra to say except I would play it again when I want to work on my irons.
Sucks
Would not play again course is in poor condition
Poorly maintained
Poor
Par 3 course! Bad greens and tee boxes! Only played 9 holes and payed for 18 and they wouldn't refund my money! Do not recommend!
Great little 9 hole course
Perfect place to work on the irons and short game. Great all grass driving range and large practice green. This is my regular practice facility.
Fun day!
If your looking for a golf course to bring young or inexperienced golfers to play without the pressure that most courses have.....this is the place !.....I appreciate being able to play at a slower pace & relax while playing......I and my family had fun & would definitely come back again !
Lots Fun !!
Brush up on your short game, this is no walk in the park.
Tough little course.
Had a lot of fun tough little course great for practicing your short game staff was very friendly.
Best kept secret
This is the best kept secret golf course.played it for the first time it was great.price was fabulous. Gordon was great this gentleman gave me free balls and free use of pull cart.It was a pretty challenging 9 hole .The course is under new management go out and play it.At first couldn't find it .its surrounded by new construction. Told gordon have a bigger sign out front. Thanks Gordon for your services. Definitely would go back
Great little par 3 course
I've been playing here pretty regularly lately. Very nice staff. Greens are good. Fairways a little dry, but that may be due to the drought. Pace of play is usually great, but today was extremely slow due to a senior citizen moving slowly while also teaching his grandson the game. Very inconsiderate. He should have let me play through. I still love the course and staff. It's a great place to practice.
Good course to practice irons and great driving range
Mountain Valley Golf Course (MVGC) is basically a par 3 golf course (there are several holes with tee boxes that make them par 4). The course has recently been upgraded with significant improvements to the greens and the course in general. There is a great "all natural" grass driving range as well as a practice green and practice hole. The staff is friendly and the two pros are knowledgeable and friendly. It is a great facility to practice and improve one's swing and work on the short iron game. Prices are very reasonable.
OK Course, Nice Range
Course is decent for what it is, though the driving range is the most impressive part of the course (more on that later). Greens were surprisingly fast the day I went, though there were some unsightly bare patches on a few holes (mostly on the edges of the greens). With small greens and plenty of hazards (water, OB, sand), accuracy is required. Playing from the back tees, there were a few 200+ yard holes making the layout reasonably varied. Played with some friends who are just learning the game and they enjoyed it.
Oh yes, the driving range - one of the best I've been to in the region. No mats here. Just lots of grass. Nice grass. Not overly seeded and sanded, which can make the grass feel like a sand trap. Would definitely make the trip back here to get some quality practice in.
Great PAR 3 course!
First time we (my wife, 10yr old son and me) played this course... it was great! 2 days after all the heavy rain and the course drained better than most 18 hole full courses I know! We were pretty much "alone" on the course. Other patrons were nice. Staff was friendly. Mostly iron play, with 1-2 holes you could use your 3/5 wood. Tee boxes were in okay condition. Greens were okay as well. This is NOT Pebble Beach, but... it IS a family-friendly course where you can have family-time golf and not stress about the complete ediquette of the game. Highly recommend this place to families wanting to enjoy stress-free golf at.a.good price (GolfNow).
Under New Management!
This course is really starting to take a turn for the better. The greens are actually playable now, they look like any other public course now. They also have carts available,
Crazy
They don't even have a computer, so they can't confirm anything you reserved on golf now. They just took my word for it. Like the other review said, watch out for fleas. I was scratching my ankles for two weeks before those bumps went away. Most of the grass is dead, even on the greens. Fairways aren't well kept. Groundskeeper was mowing a green while we were playing. This course is simply sad.
Thanks so much for the kind words. We're working hard to improve conditions and create a fun golfing experience. Please come see us again soon!
