La Iguana Golf Course
About
La Iguana Golf Course sits alongside a rainforest and offers you a view of the ocean while play 18 holes of testing par-72 golf on a Ted Robinson layout that also serves as a habitat for monkeys and macaws.
Robinson designed the 6,700-yard La Iguana Golf Course to blend into its neighboring jungle, with indigenous flora such as orchids and banana trees, not to mention the fauna, including 150 bird species. Take along extra balls: One golfer apparently had his stolen right off the green on the fourth hole.
As part of the Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort, the La Iguana Golf Course is included in stay-and-lay packages.

Disappointed
We had been looking forward to playing this course for sometime now.
As you drive into the Marriott property all signs point towards a good experience. Now, because Golf is Life, every course always starts off with a 10 in my mind. So this was no different.
The course itself has a very challenging layout with a 146 slope from the tips! That’s the good part. The bad is that we are in prime season and the greens were terrible, some with major sand on them for repair, the ground all of the course was like concrete, hard and dry makes for feeling like your playing a pasture course back in BC for $10 were sleeves are optional.
The whole course had leaves and debris all over, it doesn’t take much for a leaf blower to come by and make it look much better. The fact that labor is cheap here and the course is not in great shape was very heartbreaking for us.
Little things like cart person only came twice all round and had a small golf cart with limited options also felt like a fly by night course not one that is touted as the nicest in thperson area and a must do.
I could go on but I’m depressed as I lay in my hotel room.
Overall, not with the high price tag. #sad
La Iguana Golf experience
Very good golf course considering where it is located. All greens were great, was very hot unless you tee off at 7:00 am. Great track overall. Very expensive for rental clubs $85. Only issue is the price.
10/10
Awesome course, beautifully designed to make you feel like you’re in the jungle. Only reason I gave course conditions and 4/5 was because it was a little wet from the storm the night before. Mind you, i went during the rainy season so I can only imagine it’s in pristine condition for the most part. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!
Beautiful course in the jungle!!
A great course. Very challenging. Lots of wildlife.
Great Experience!
Staff was very friendly and professional. Pace of play was great. Course condition was great, but the greens were a little slow. Look forward to playing again in the future.
Very nice experience!
The course was in generally good condition. The greens were a little slow, but consistent. Very nice pace of play. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. And great surroundings, views, and wildlife. We will definitely play again on future trips.
Disappointed
Checkin took 25 minutes with no one in front of us. Course conditions were poor. Weather was very hot and no water was provided. Expected more of a Marriott course.
Fun course
Everything was good but the pro didn’t honor my golf now rate so I think you need to contact them with this issue I played 4-5 times there and in the clubhouse I dealt with different people who were nice but one of the pros charged me 220 when I reserved it on GN for 175 and the other times I played they didn’t up charge me
Layout was nice. Greens were slow. Pace of play was slow., but we played behind a weekly group that were playing a “skins” competition. The slow pace gave us more time to view the birds and plants. Staff was friendly and helpful.
It was a typical resort course. A bit pricey for the conditions.
3rd time playing
I like the layout of this course and wildlife on it is a treat.
Some fairways were dried out and the greens were pretty slow (it seemed)
Staff is very friendly, there was a delta between GolfNow prices and actual prices.
Over-priced
Played here only because there are no other options in the area. Good course but over-priced and no value-add extras included.
Soggy
No fault of the management but excessive rain meant no fairway cutting from the end of September till the 2nd of December. Greens were OK but fairways were barely playable. Course should be charging reduced rates under these circumstances.
Needs work
Dry grass, hard fairways, mediocre greens, concrete -like traps. Pretty setting though.
Only golf course
Good enjoyable layout. Very friendly staff.Wilber in office and bag guys are excellent. Very enjoyable day.
Great experience
Great staff and excellent upkeep- the very best!! Thank you.Iguana Golf!
Beautiful course. Very expensive. You don't even get range balls with the fee you pay. Course conditions were average. Good pace of play, not too crowded. Played the course in late April. Situated on a pretty Marriott hotel campus. Overpriced in my opinion, but unfortunately, you don't have many other options in the area. The staff was inconsistent and a bit lukewarm, although there were a couple of very kind staff members. The layout was average in parts beautiful in others. some of the holes were situated right next to the streets
Amazing!
You have to play it! The he best courses in central america…
