SWEET
The course was in great shape the pace of play laid back. Staff where very good
Horrible Conditions
They stopped irrigating the course last summer due to water shortages and it has not come back. Greens are in good shape, but that is all. At any given time you could be hitting off of weeds, mud, hard dirt or sand; almost never off of grass. I only played because I got a Hot Deal at $28. Even that ended up being a problem, because after paying taxes and fees, they told me I owed another $5 at the course. My $28 round became $43 and this course is not worth that right now.
Course still in bad shap
If I had not gotten what seemed to be a good deal, I would never have played here given the condition the course is in. Even with the hot deal, I am not sure it was worth the cost. Last Summer they stopped watering the course and just let it fall apart. It is improving, but even so, it appears to be at least a few months away from being in decent shape. I also ran into an issue with taxes. Even though taxes were collected up front, I still was required to pay "Mexican taxes" at the cours. My $28 round ended up costing me $43 by the time I paid all the taxes and fees. Not too expensive, but, given the condition of the course, probably not worth it.
Not Quite Up to Par
With the water shortages from last summer, many of the fairways were in rough shape bordering on horrible. The greens were very nice so thanks for that. I will LOVE this course after they recover from the drought and rebuild their fairways. We got a really great deal through Golf Now, otherwise I would have been disappointed if we had payed regular rates.
Extremely Bad; Terrible Conditions
1. ALL fairways (14) were dirt with clumps of grass& some sort of green weed.
2. Tee boxes were decent
3. Greens were very good.
4. Score card had NO COURSE PICTURE. Once you left the Tee box there were few signs or descriptions as to where the green was (dog left/tight, etc). There were virtually no signage as to where the next Tee box was.
5. They should Pay You to even show up to play this course😂😩!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME—go somewhere else!!!!!
Horrible
I have played over 200 different coures over the last five years, this by far is the worst.
Awful
They lost their irrigation system and the condition is terrible Do not go there.
Worst I’ve even seen
This course should not be open. I’ve never seen a course in worse shape. No irrigation, dirt instead of grass, weeds everywhere. Condition really makes it unplayable. The fact that they are even open tells me they are willing to rob you of your money. The worst part is we bought TWO rounds. No point in playing the second round. They are sealing your money to even be open.
Course is in terrible condition.
We have played here before. It was always in good condition, but now the fairways are just sand and weeds. Probably the worst conditions I have ever played in. Very disappointed that the course is not notifying guests. Do not play here. Go to Vidanta Peninsula course instead.
No Fairways
All the fairway grass is gone and you’re hitting off sand or weeds. Only the greens were kept up.
This course needs work
I reserved a tee time in October but the course was being over seeded so I canceled but the golf pass doesn’t give refunds only credits for 6 months. We went to play again and course looked the same. We played 11 holes and gave up. The fairways are still dirt. Spend your money elsewhere and don’t use golf pass.
Tom B
great course and great value
Fairways were a little rough, but greens were in good shape. Carts need some maintenance on brakes and seat repair but for what we paid it was acceptable.
Inexpensive Mexican golf
got a very good price course was suffering from a drought last year, the fairways were mostly dead turf or sand. greens were good, enjoyed it and would play again.
Not worth it at any price
MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE PICS!
We come down every year during January and February and play all three courses in the area. This used to be our favorite course. We would usually play it 20 times or more. Unfortunately, due to water problems, the course has deteriorated into a dirt pile that has become unplayable. The other two courses in this area are in excellent shape.
In addition to that, we use Golf now on all three of the courses in the area. We never get charged any extra fees above and beyond what we pay Golf now, when it is los Palomas they always make sure to add an additional fee. A week before we had gone to management and negotiated a price for around that was equitable, considering the conditions, but when we returned for our teatime, they would not honor that. It’s the old Mexican two-step. Please look at the pics to get an idea of what the courses like.
All dirt fairways
Too bad but last year and this year there is a severe water shortage so all the fairways are literally dirt. Mosttee boxed and most greens are ok. We have always loved this course but the playing conditions have become ridiculous. I did not take pics but If you saw what it looks like you would probably pass.
Fairways need TLC
The staff are friendly and the greens are in great shape. And I get that this is a links style course but the fairways used to be in much better shape. All things considered, it’s still good value for the money though.
Course conditions…
The greens are great while the fairways are sandy in almost all area of all holes. They have a sign posted saying drought, for about 15 extra per person and about 20 minutes away I highly recommend going to vidante in puerto Peñasco.
