Still fighting with those unattainable greens - the ones that sent back into the fairway at about a 60 degree angle !
My ball - which had landed on the Green - maybe 5” from the edge - rolled back 60 feet to the oak tree on #16! Frustrating!!!
Hoping rain and some grass seed will help to remedy the situation. I like this course but it keeps getting worse!
Great little course.
Course well maintained, somewhat challenging for a green golfer, and service in pro shop outstanding
Firsatr time---NICE Course
We enjoyed playing Mount Dora. It is an older course with a "Municipal" feel to it. Conditions were good with tee boxes and greens in very good condition, while the greens were perfect.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The course is short, but very challenging. The greens are overly deceptive leading to a few extra puts.
We will go back. Great value (Price) compared to many of the other area courses at this time of year.
Friendly starters
Lady starters were very friendly and energetic. Recommend a ranger ensure pace of play.
Great Course
We enjoyed this course the first time we went 2 years ago, and we enjoyed it this year as well. Very nice employees, and the course is very well taken care of
Guests beware!
Firstly, staff was great and apologetic. Course conditions fair and layout quite nice. Greens are elevated and small, therefore challenging, in good condition, newly sanded and “hairy” and very slow.
Pace of play is absolutely awful - the course obviously has many senior members that feel they “own”’the course and there was no attempt to let people play through - we ended up skipping 3 holes (14,15 and18) as we had waited very long on each hole on the back nine. Pace for first 9 was 2 hours but 2.00 for the second 6 we played. I was in a twosome, 2 foursomes ahead of me playing scramble golf, all senior citizens playing extremely slow and no ranger on the course.
A Gem of a Course
I played two golf courses like this when I was a teenager. They followed the lay of the land without a lot of earth moved and they had a natural feel rather than that of a design imposed on the property. Conditions were modest. Unfortunately, the courses I remember no longer exist, so it was a pleasure to play this course. Mt. Dora has a variety of good holes with significant elevation changes. Greens are small, consistent with an older course. It is a different style than typical FL courses and worth playing, if you love the game.
