Diver? Need a surface interval?

Cozumel is a dive destination but you can’t dive every day or like me, dove the reefs here 200 + times and and would like to play some golf.. CZM CC is a beautiful track challenging you to hit the fairway and green. The rough is well a jungle.

I really enjoy this course, friendly staff, challenging gol, but ca be easy to play with course knowledge. I have played course 30x . I’m an 8 but wound up today with a 71. 1 under. Please come down here, support local economy dive and get out there and PLAY!

It's worth a try

So they put me out by myself and they charge $30 for riders. The carts don't have GPS and remind me of carts used at a $30 course not a $100 course. The practice area is okay, driving range, chipping and putting area. I would recommend using an app to play the course as there are quite a few doglegs and layup areas, or purchase a yardage book. The greens were very slow and somewhat inconsistent from green to green. Some of the greens on the back nine played slightly faster. The tee boxes and fairways had grass even though it is the dry season. My one overall negative is that the cart almost died on the 15th hole and I had to push us in from there. Benny the course Pro compensated me for all of that pushing I had too do.
The course is almost completely flat, a few of the holes did have slightly elevated greens and like I said previously, there are quite a few blind shots. I played the back tees as I wanted the full experience of the course and some of the tee shots required a long carry.
The iguanas are plentiful and I only saw 2 crocodiles, yes they do launch out of the water, so no, don't get close to the water. I had my own experience with one.
I would recommend playing if you're like me, someone who likes to experience courses while on vacation, but if you're not, then don't go, your not missing anything. I booked on golfnow which saved me some money also, so I would recommend that route.
Hit em straight.
One last thing, they have 3 different clubs to rent, all are extremely old. I figured as much so I rented the nike clubs for $30, a picture of them is here.

Great course

Always love playing this course when visiting Cozumel. The course is fun and challenging with loads of beauty. My only complaint would be that they step up their game with the rental clubs. The Nike ones I rented could of used new grips about two years ago. Still a great place to play, thanks!

Needs a lot of work doing

Have played this course several time over the years, but sadly it’s now in the worse conditions we have ever seen it.

It way over priced for the terrible state of fairways and greens, and several of the bunkers were like weed bunkers.

Total lack of maintenance work seems the biggest issue, and it’s more like a $20 course, not the $99 we payed.

Very disappointed!

Not Worth the Price

The course itself is not bad -- fair to good condition on the tees, fairways and greens -- but rather flat with not much slope or contour. However, for $169 pp, plus rental clubs, it was nowhere near what I expected.

First off, their credit card machine malfunctioned -- a real problem when they did not accept American cash (only Mexican currency), and this was at the snack shack as well as the pro shop!

Then, a quality resort will usually provide a sleeve or two of new, albeit bottom tier, golf balls with club rentals. This place charged $10 per sleeve (3 balls) -- i.e., $40/dozen -- for Pinnacle Soft balls! Being a jungle course -- one must be insane to look for any balls that stray from the fairway! --you can readily anticipate needing LOTS of balls unless you are a single-digit handicap.

Finally, and this is the real kicker, the snack cart came by only once the entire day. The driver drove straight PAST us; we had to shout him down to stop (bad business model, in my opinion). His beverages were kept in a cooler filled with filthy, fetid water/melted ice which we did not dare touch, much less set lips upon.

Again, the overall experience here was nowhere near worth the price. And I would recommend Cozumel Country Club to no one.

Jungle golf

We were 2, perfect weather in January (25-30 ° C), roughs, fairways and greens in very good condition. But it is a jungle arrangement, it is not as beautiful as a conventional course, no flower, no colorful trees, everything is green. No ocean near the course, but lot of lakes, crocodiles and iguanas. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. In short, we enjoyed our golf vacation there and the pkg (Hotel & Golf) is very nice. Great golf challenge. Bring many golf balls.

Great Value for a Resort Course

Service was impeccable. The course was in great shape and pace of play was a non issue. I teed up early morning.

I was able to golf with a member and received a lot of advice. Wildlife usually comes out in the afternoon, so only (1) Croc encounter.

Too wet (again)

2nd time playing this course, both times in the fall to winter. Last time the par 4 1st was shortened to a par 3 due to the fairway being flooded. While it was a par 4 for this latest round, the course itself should have been closed except for the small fact that there were 6 cruise ships in port and money was to be made. Hole 16 is a prime example. The tee box was pure mud and you sank a good 2 inches, if not more, as you're ready to tee off. Nice drive in the fairway plugs almost to the point of being lost. Slosh across the fairway, find the ball, and there's no point of relief within at least 50 yards so you hit the ball out of the muck. Here's the other joke (see the picture). 16 of 18 of the flags were tucked at furthest 4 yards from the edge of an otherwise huge green and usually over or on top of a massive ridge. So you hit either a shorter shot that plugs in the green leaving you with an uphill to downhill/sidehill putt that begs for a clown mouth and windmill or you do like I did and hit flag high and watch the ball bounce off the downslope and finish in the mud 10 yards over the green. The 2 other pin placements were also borderline and the overall experience was a joke but was not amusing by the time you got through the first 6 holes and realized what the staff was doing to (I guess) attempt to preserve the greens given the damp. I realize that it's the rainy season and they had been swamped for the past 3 days but there's no way the course should have been open, and if you didn't use Golfnow ($99) they'd want you to pay upwards of $150 to ruin a good pair of golf shoes. At best you had to slog through or around the mud which had taken over the rough to get to a fairway but more often than not it was mud through and through. Not playing here again if I return to Cozumel even in the "dry" season whenever that might be.

A Favorite

Traveling to Cozumel when Biston is 30 degrees is always a treat. This is our second time playing this course and it was better than we remember. We played two rounds in the afternoons. Both days we flew through our round with no waiting..

Set amongst the Cozumel jungle, the course layout is very well done. The course condition was excellent. The greens were in great shape with some challenging pin placements.

It is a new favorite course and we will be back again.

Great escape from shopping and the beach!

Set up a tee time for 2:30pm. No one on the course. Holes are carved thru the jungle - really an enjoyable relaxing round of golf. Quality TaylorMade rental set at reasonable rate. I would highly recommend this for an afternoon escape.

Golfing with Crocodiles

Yup... there was lots of crocs on site (look at the picture I posted) so it was a bit scary but then after nine I kinda forgot about it (I saw two huge ones on the second hole).

The course was in excellent condition and the staff was friendly. It was a bit hot but that's what you get for playing in the middle of a jungle so I don't recommend walking it. Most of the sand traps were well kept with a few of them with gravel instead of sand so you just don't play those.

You see a lot of wild life besides crocs like birds, lizards and iguanas. Most par 5 are reachable so you can lower score and you only have to jump a few walls of jungle.

Fairways are open most of the holes and you have to carry some mangroves once in a while which makes it the most challenging feature in my opinion.

Prepare to lose a few golf balls since I don't recommend approaching the water to retrieve them even if they are not in the water. This course gives "water hazard" a new meaning!! READ THE GOLF CART SIGN!

Great way to spend the "off" day after diving!

Golf now booking worked a treat and saved a lot of money on green fee/cart and club hire. Course was in good condition and fairly open so not too challenging. Loads of birds and butterfly's and warnings of crocodiles in the water (didn't see any but definitely heeded the warnings). Clubs were older Nike's but good condition. We will definitely go again on our next diving trip!

Off ship early to play

$18 to get there from the international plus your tip. That is reasonable for about a 15 minute ride. Staff greeted us when we arrived and took us to the pro shop were we requested to go. I had confused the ship time with local time but they accommodated us readily . The charge was as golf now.com said. Our total was a little over $300 since we bought gloves balls and rented clubs. It was a good set of tailor-made burner sticks
The service all round was friendly and excellent. Prices were about normal country club prices on items like gloves balls beer etc.
The course itself is quite tight as a great deal of water and some swamp land. The wildlife was amazing iguana's, lizards, one crocodile, birds and a few snakes. Non-bothered us.
We were warned online that greens had been aerated and they had also been sanded but they still played really well.
There was a cart girl who came by regularly and at the end of the round we are given some iced minted towels.

My best tips would be number one bring your own tools for very inexpensive round of golf on a beautiful exotic course. Second play early as the humidity increases as the temperature rises rapidly as noon approaches. And last bring bug spray it was not bad this day except in the quiet areas but there was a Goodwind to keep the insects away. On a calm day you would have to have bug spray as this course is cut out of a wetland swamp area. The setting is beautiful the flora and fauna are lush and interesting I would recommend this course for play.
4tee locations to accommodate everyone. No walking very long between some holes

Cozumel Golf

I still consider this a hidden gem, only course on the island but worth playing when in good shape. I know they had storms and lots of rain over the autumn and winter, but the staff has done an excellent job getting the course back to playable condition. The staff is excellent very attentive and practice range is good. Playing time this day (midweek) was 3 hours and 10 minutes. Which is outstanding. So if you are in Cozumel this season and want to play jump on it. Typical Nicklaus type of design lots of doglegs, elevated greens and you keep to play to a position on them. Lots of local wild life to keep you on your toes crocs and lizards didn't see any crocs this time but have in the past.

Excellent greens

The greens were in very good shape. The fairways and rough were a little in need of grass. Watch out for wild life especially crocs!!! Played only the first 9 and than had to play same 9 again due to tournament. Not informed until going to tee off.

Not Your Normal Course

On our way to the first hole we drove by an alligator with it's mouth wide open. Iguana's, beautiful birds and baby alligators were part of the 'normal' scene-got some great photos of the wildlife on the course. The course was challenging but they went overboard on very difficult pin placements on almost every hole-the only negative I have. Am looking at booking some stay and play pkgs to come back.

A challenging round

The course itself has it's own challenges, with fairways carved through the jungle, and crocodile filled water hazards. But the greatest challenge was the incredibly slow pace of play.

Course should have been closed

Tee boxes had no grass on them, a par 5 was closed and converted to a par 3(?)
This was not worth the time and money spent to play this course, we've played many public courses that were a 100 x better than this "private course"
The starter and the bag boys were the best part of the experience .
