Only deal in town...

Poor conditions. I understand the flood that cause the par 5 to be played as par 3. Teeboxes were brown. no grass.
Fairways just fair. Greens were spotty.
Too expensive for the conditions.

I don't think Jack has been there for some time!

Always a great time

Golf in Mexico in January is always a good thing. Played four rounds during the week, lost lots of balls as usual. Course was in good shape considering the wet year they had. Greens were in really good shape.

Fall in Mexico

Course staff was very friendly. Always ready to help (very hungry for tips, but this is normal for anywhere and anything in Mexico).
Course fairways were burned out, mowed down to dust and the 17th Hole was not in play. Greens looked like they had been recently punched, but they were still decent.

Lots of nature on this golf course.. Crocodiles, Iguanas, Lizards, Snakes, Birds of all shapes and sizes..

Overall was pretty pricey to play, but it is the only course on Isla Cozumel and you pay for that. Just was expecting more for a Jack Nicklaus designed course.

Fabulous golf!

We were on a cruise and dragged our clubs hoping to get in some golf. The Cozumel Country Club was one of our favorite courses. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the starter advising us to tee off a little early inorder to beat a big group coming off one of the cruise ships allowing us to easily complete the round in four hours. The greens were challenging and the fairways well manicured.

Exotic

You know this course is different when you spot a half submerged crocodile on the first tee! Bring lots of balls, you shouldn't go in the jungle or near a water hazard following errant shots. The layout while challenging isn't punishing. Conditioning was very good, not pristine the day I played. Greens were slow. No one wants to play in the middle of the afternoon, it's the best time to play. Rates are lowest and you practically have the course to yourself. My wife and I teed off at 11:30 am, got around in 3:30 and got a hot buy on golf.now for $75 each! Great experience.

Tight in places

Only game on the island. Rental clubs had 3 categories. $35 clubs [least expensive] were just okay. Plenty of opportunities to lose balls. 17 and 18 kinda funky with junk in fairway to overcome. Tough Nicklaus undulating greens.

It's in the middle of the jungle

This golf course requires good shots off the tee because many fairways are tight and if you miss them you only have a few yards of rough to work with and if you miss both you would be on the jungle which plays as a lateral hazard. Bunkers are in great shape and the greens were rolling smooth but the plastic cups were barely buried into the holes and I noticed it on the very first hole because I had a 4 footer to save par and hit it dead center so I was reaching for it before it dropped but the ball hit the back edge of the cup and it bounced straight back at me...Par 5's are not too long because I still managed to reach 2 of them in two from the blues.

Good course but I wouldn't play it again.
