One of the few links golf courses in East Malaysia
Miri Golf Club is a challenging 18 hole links golf course, located between the Miri River and the South China Sea. It is the first golf club constructed in Miri and is a members club. It has reciprocal membership with numerous golf courses in Malaysia and a few with neighbouring countries. This is a cow grass course with serangoon grass as greens. It is relatively narrow with many hazards and out of bounds. The greens are well protected by bunkers.
The front nine plays alongside the South China Sea, and can be quite windy. The back nine plays alongside the Miri River. At Hole 14, golfers can view the Miri City from across the river.
Being one of few links course in East Malaysia, it is also an enjoyable walking course. There are ample shade provided by the many trees there.
The club also offers beginner lessons and has a very active junior golfing program.
The clubhouse has a catering team and a terrace cafe. There are changing rooms and shower rooms for golfers. There is also an adult and children swimming pool at the clubhouse. Besides that, there is also a driving range which is open to public.
