Great value from golfnow
Great price for what I have paid from golfnow. But I don't think I would pay full price for this course. During my stay at Puerto Vallarta, I have played at Vista Vallarta (both course), Vidanta (both Norman and Nayar) and they are much better course. But come to think of it, Golfnow should have a better green fee at Marina.
The course was in goid shape with fast greens. Everyone was friendly and accomodating. Pace of play was great. Cost was fair for $50 at twilight rate
Played it twice and Ill play it again
If you dont mind the heat, grab the twilight rate of $50 on GolfNow. Its worth it....course is challenging and fun. Watch out for gators!
If you’re in PV, play this one. Not the best course in the world but very good. Staff from pro shop to Starters all great people. Course is pretty tight and very well maintained. Greens hard but nice even though it’s been dry. Fairways all in perfect condition.
Watch the palms, they will eat you balls:)
Really not good
Course was in bad condition. Rentals balls everything was so expensive. Just a bad course for any price but even worse for the price I paid.
we really enjoyed playing at Marina Vallarta. The staff was super friendly and the course was in decent condition. The rented clubs were not great and extremely over priced.
Puerto Vallarta Vacation
Crocodile ‘s were great!!!
Cart paths were difficult to drive on.
Marking arrows on paths should be better!
Nice course was a little disappointed with the condition for the price of the course. But was close to the resort and nice.
My first time playing there. Course in good shape. Be aware of crocodiles. I saw two big ones.
Crocs and the Ocean!
My return to Marina Vallarta was a good one. More than 11 years ago, I played the front nine before racing off to catch my flight at the airport that's right next door to the course.
Little did I know how cool the back nine is. These last nine holes are reason alone to play. The course has its own version of Amen Corner once you cross the street to the back portion of the property. Holes 11-13 each deliver something special. No. 11 is called the 'X' hole - a short par 4 named for the two palm tree trunks that criss-cross behind a sloping green guarded by water. Ponds filled with crocodiles pinch either side of the fairway on the par-4 12th. Be careful playing this hole. And finally, the par-3 13th plays directly along a public beach on the Bay of Banderas, providing striking views of Puerto Vallarta in the distance. A few closing holes cut a narrow path through trees on the way back to the clubhouse, where a nice patio and bar beckons for food and drinks.
Some of the traps, cart paths and homes along the course show their age, but overall, Marina Vallarta still rates as a fun place to play. Guests staying nearby at Casa Velas, Velas Vallarta, the Marriott Puerto Vallarta and the Westin Puerto Vallarta can easily walk there. Guests at the adults-only, all-inclusive Casa Velas (like me) can play as often as they wish for the cost of a cart fee ($57 per round). That's a great deal for golf south of the border in high season.
.Closed front 9
Great course but they the front 9 closed because they were aerating the greens
Closest to town, so it’s worth it.
If you’ve played Mexico golf, you won’t be impressed...It’s the closest to old town where we stay so it works for me. I like to golf early and have the rest of the day to hang out.
Driving another 20 minutes further to get to a nicer course is too much of hastle..
Value only after 3pm
This is a great golf course, however, it's way over priced unless you book a tee time after 3 pm.
Even if you arrive early and the course is NOT busy, you're still held to close to the 3 pm tee off.
The only other comment ,......the Pro Shop items are priced extremely high.
Good Resort Course
Marina Vallarta is a really fun track with lots of character. The greens were in great condition and ran true at a decent pace. A lot of variety of golf holes with some real beauties, especially the 200yd par-3 13th that runs alongside the beach/ocean. Lots of crocodiles and gators on this course as well which adds to the experience. We paid $57 to play which was a deal that we got from our resort. Definitely worth that price, would pay more if we had to.
Club rentals are way to expensive. Fee for a non player riding a cart is ridiculous. Practice facilities are very good. Greens are in good shape.
