What a let down
It hurts to say this, but the course is in the worst condition I have ever seen it in. A majority of the fairways look like a lunar landscape. Fairways and green are covered in Poana, making impossible to accurately putt on.
For the cost I expected more than it was, and as I said earlier, it hurts to mention what bad shape the course is in, this course has had its issues before but recovered well, I hope they can recover from this!
Rob
Bad Fairways!
They seriously need to work on them fairways! All in bad shape
Ehh
This used to be one of the best in the area but not anymore. This course is in terrible condition
Challenging yet Entertaining Course to play
The course was an entertaining challenge for a mid range handicapper! There were plenty of holes with bunker and water hazards to navigate mixed in between holes with open fairways to get your confidence back up again lol
The driving range, putting green and chipping greens were all in excellent condition to use before your round.
The Clubhouse bar was the perfect way to finish our round.
Would happily come back to play again.
Needs work
Course is in brutal condition, but with some love/money it can get to its former glory. This course is an awesome course going through a rough time. I’ll check back on it in a year.
Split Rail Summer '21
Course was in pretty good shape compared to many other area courses still reeling from the winter storm damage.
Many greens had just been repaired and will grow back soon. Having said that, the greens were really in good shape and I only had to move my ball twice due to greens partially under repair (I think 8-9 of them were just repaired.) Tees and fairways were great - no complaints there.
There weren't too many people out there on Thursday morning so I took my time and really enjoyed the round. The layout of the course is an absolute blast - just enough water and bunkers to challenge you but not too much.
The new clubhouse is super nice and I expect the course will continue to get in better shape over the summer - I highly recommend it.
New Club House ⛳️
I love everything about the course. It Challenges my golf game.
Hidden gem in Aledo
Very underrated layout with several links-ish style holes featured on each nine. Each hole presents a different challenge with a variety of ways to play it depending on the flag position that day. The greens are challenging yet very fun, with each one offering its own unique twists and turns. The greens were rolling fast and true. Icing on the cake with the course was the NXT balls used on the driving range. Could not have asked for a better experience. Go give this course a try!
great layout. traps have no sand
v. challenging and in great shape except for the traps.
greens are excellent and challenging.
$31 with coupon made it a great deal.
food was average.
staff kinda stiff.
Terrible maintance
Sense the building of new club house I've noticed that the golf course has deteriated. The sand traps have no sand just pea gravel and dirt. They are watering the greens and tee boxes but the fairways are like concrete. The green fees are much to high for the conditions of this course. The staff was very unfriendly.Want be back until the course is improved.
Greens very true for winter conditions
Course layout challenging. Esp on a few of the holes. Accurate tee shots a must. If you par #4 you will come back (challenging tee shot and well bunkered undulating green). I'll be back!
The course is in excellent condition and the staff is great. You should give Split Rail another chance...Our clubhouse is beautiful
