Crispy
Greens were still rough from aeration. Month ago. Fairways were 60% burned up from heat and lack of water. Layout is good, but grass was mowed too short and dormant
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. Please know the current conditions are by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards a 5-star experience and we hope to see you back!
Lakes
Overall the course was in decent shape. They’re doing the best they can with the drought. That being said I believe the cost to play was too high considering the greens haven’t recovered from being punched. While I’m sure they’ll be fine with some time - $60 for a course with recovering greens is to high.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration for future improvements.
Needs rain
The greens are healing from recent ariation but are in good condition otherwise. Tee boxes and fairways are suffering a bit due to drought.
Thank you for visiting us at Squaw Valley Golf Course - Comanche Lakes Course. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Feeling the heat
The lakes fairways are responding to the lack of rain. About 1/2 green and hard. Greens still recovering from punching. The links seem to be in better shape last time I played it.

Worst customer service ever
It’s 110 degrees outside. There is no mention that the course doesn’t have water stations on the course. To make it worse the cart girl came by twice in 13 holes and each time she “just ran out of water”. She would sell 10 to 12 waters to a group and just so happened would “run out” when she got to us. Not sure what the course expected us to do.
The cart girl blamed the management for allowing her to sell as many waters as the customer wanted as the reason she doesn’t have enough.
The club house blamed the cart girl.
The lack of ownership and responsibility was apparent.
Last. The greens were recently punched and no mention of this either. I’ve played here before and was pleased with the course. But this time they failed from start to end. Would not recommend until they change some things.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your recent visit to our course. We appreciate your feedback and will pass this on to the teams in charge. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Unenjoyable Conditions
I’m sorry, but for the price, this course is not worth it at all. The greens had been recently punched so I’ll be forgiving on their slowness/bumpiness, but the rest of the course is bad. The fairways have grass in most areas but the ground is so hard and dry. Most of the tee boxes are so dry that you can hardly place a tee in. I understand that it’s been a dry summer, but under those conditions it’s just not worth playing to me. I might come back once it’s rained a bit, but I won’t be going back this summer.

Good course, but needs one thing
Playing in the summer especially this course needs water coolers on the course.
If you play Comanche Lakes you will not pass the clubhouse at the turn. And no where on this course is there a water cooler.
The course is in good condition, played 18 holes in 4hrs 15mins on a Sunday, so not that bad.

Great course
The course was in good shape, especially considering the heat and lack of rain.
I wish they had rangers to help keep everyone moving!

Great layout.
Would have been a five star review based on course layout and difficulty but the pace of play and numerous hard packed sand traps knocked it down a little. Greens rolled true but a little bumpy from previous aeration. Need to be sanded and rolled but fair for the drought conditions. Would definitely play again.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. The new normal
While the course is still a great layout with scenic views, since the rona, they removed the water jugs and free water bottles. Now there is no free water available on the course and the beverage cart charges $2 per small bottle.
Bring your own water or pay through the nose for plastic bottles. I'm a little aggravated since I ended up with a heat related headache by the 16th hole.
I'm also reminded that the beverage cart had minimal snacks, and ran out of cups. They don't put coolers on the carts so I don't really understand the rationale of a golf course in Texas not properly preparing for the Texas heat.
