Reviews
Greens
Out of 18 greens not one of them were in good condition. Actually they were in VERY poor shape. The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition.
Course was great as always
The only “gripe” I have about this round was that portions of the course were really dry. That being said, it has been really windy lately and I understand the course can only do so much to keep up with it.
Greens were faster than normal, but that’s a good thing since these greens are usually really slow.
Tee boxes were neat and freshly mowed.
Rough was in good shape and there’s only a couple places where you might lose a ball. (Excluding water of course.)
Staff was super friendly, as always.
I played this round on a Hot Deal and paid $12. You just can’t beat that! I live 35 minutes away and I will drive to this course any day of the week. (I actually do tend to drive to this course at least once a week.)
Burning greens, give me a hole-in-one.
The burn on the greens turned out to be awesome. The watering for the greens is broke right now, but I had my first hole-in-one. Eight iron from 188 out on number two. Thank you pecan lakes
Four-color greens
Course was in decent shape except for the greens. Two shades of green, some burnt-out brown and then the bare dirt in spots. Made it tough to gauge the shots around the greens obviously. Its still a decent value but if the greens improve it would certainly be worth the drive once in a while.
Putting Greens still too Slow
Ok I wrote a review about 2 weeks ago. even though the greens were very slow i still gave a decent review because i did like the course. But, i went back with a friend and the greens were even worse than before. I guess they either don't read their reviews or just dont care. I will not be going back. The greens are way too slow its like trying to put threw the fairway.
Its too bad i really did like this course but will not go back.
Dry conditions always affected by winds
I play golf to meet and have a good time with others. I had s great time with a couple of guys that I met who I hope to play golf with in the future.
The course is dry as most courses are in this area. The greens are better than when I last played here but still slow. We got out right before a group of six who played together. As you might expect, they fell behind us by a few holes. That’s the trouble with this course - they allow large groups to play together without a course marshall to maintain pace of play.
Nice course, very open
First time playing this course, enjoyed the layout and will play again
Small Town Golf Course
About what you would expect for small town brazos valley golf. Not crowded on Sunday afternoon. Playable greens. Fairways not perfect but not bad. Overall enjoyable experience. I come out here when I dont want to pay 45+ dollars for round at TAMU campus course.
Greens are like putting on the fairways
I play this course probably about once a week. It was always in great condition and always a great place to play for the money. But this week it was just horrible. I don't know if they have a new owner or new Maintenance crew or what, but the tee boxes looked like they haven't been cut in weeks, the weeds were up past my ankles, and the greens were like putting in the fairways like they haven't been cut in over a month.
I never write reviews but i had to about this course. its sad because i do play the course a lot, but i will not go back, until something is done about the conditions.
Nice course
First time to play course. Fun course. Pretty good conditions. Big smooth greens. Wide open layout.
Conditions Improving
I haven't played here in well over a year and last time conditions were a little rough. Glad to say that this course has improved considerably in that time and I am looking forward to my next round. There's a couple of greens that will require some work to get them back in shape but overall they're nice. Good challenging course and fun to play.
Slow back 9
Made the turn and the club house put a three sum in front of us.Made then back nine slow. Don’t understand why they would do that.
Holding up well in winter
Played on Sunday and overall the course was in good shape for winter. Most of the greens were in excellent shape although a few were pretty patchy with some brown spots.
Nice quiet Course
It was nice to get out of Houston and play a nice, quiet course.
Tee box-good
Fairways-good
Sandtraps-excellent
Greens-slow, but in good shape.
bright windy day but course was good, pace of play was good....we enjoy playing at Pecan Lakes...easy drive from Houston area...good value for the $$...we will return...
