on the backway
improvement shows, way to go MC. needs better score card with maps and yardage markers on back 9.
Very nice challenging course (except)
Could have waited to airate and sand the greens until after the holiday
Played with a large group and no one could judge their putts
Greens are in Poor Shape
Fairways are in good shape lots of grass due to the recent rain although the rough is very thick and hard to find your golf ball.
Greens are in very poor shape bumpy and slow not worth the 42.00 green fees
Under renovation
Like a once beautiful woman who hasn't aged gracefully. Course Maintainance, lack of funds, is in trouble, trying to turn 27 holes into 18 playable has Robert Trent Jones Jr. looking the other way!
Room for improvement
Worst part of round is time looking for balls if you stray into rough anywhere from tee to green. Fairways fine but Bermuda rough is consistent 6-8" deep.
Almost there
The course still needs a little time for some new holes to open and some to take shape. The original course holes for the most part are still solid. Once the new holes take shape and come into to play it will be excellent. Still a great place to play a round!
unfriendly members
I was not impressed with the attitude of most of the players at this course, they were not friendly and sort of snobbish at times. I waved hello to a few golfers and got dirty looks and not one golfer waved back or said hello as I made an effort to be friendly. I will not be returning to this course.
Fun round
They have taken a 27 hole facility and re-routed 18 holes from it. Course was in good shape with some very interesting holes. Lots of water and forced carries made you have to pay attention to club selection. My only complaints were that signage could be better and yardages easier to find. My yardage app was no good since it kept showing holes no longer being used. If I carried a rangefinder...this would not have been a problem though...LOL. I plan to stop here often as I regularly travel from Dallas to Austin and this was both convenient and fun to play.
Nice track, contining to get better
I've played here several times in the past year, and the improvements to restore the course are paying dividends. The greens were somewhat grainy, but other than that, the overall course was in very good shape.
Seek and find; worth the drive!
Tricky to find and navigate this course but well worth the effort, challenging and scenic, fairly good conditioned greens and fairways. Some t boxes space far apart and so watch your signs and get directions from pro-shop before heading out if it is your first visit. Take a few extra balls lots of trees and deep rough. Looking forward to playing there again.
On the rebound
Good to see this Central Texas gem coming back to life after years of mismanagement and devastating floods nearly forced its closure. Was as busy as I've ever seen it on a weekday afternoon. Saw a roadrunner near the 16th tee.
Great value
New ownership is doing a great job getting the course back in shape. Greens look great. Nice layout.
Strange Course
I understand that this course was torn up by floods a few years ago. The result is that it's just a strange course to play. You skip holes here and there, and then you have a four hole stretch (14-17) that is totally out of character with the rest of the course. Overall, the fairways and greens are in terrific shape, and there are some very, very difficult holes (fairway bunkers in very challenging locations, and #16 is a 210 yard par 3 into the wind over a pond with power lines overhead). Overall, it's a good course, but it needs some work to bring it back to its potential.
Mill Creek
Great course! Navigation around the course can be difficult and scorcards do not have map but that encourages you to go with your gut. I will be playing this course again, great condition.
None
Refurbishing looks good so far still more to be done.
Waiting for the other nine to open
Can not wait till they get all holes open from the flood a few years age to the sale of the course. They are working on it but it is a slow process to rebuild nine holes that were basically washed away by the river over flow. It is worth the time to play 18 holes. If you walk the back nine is along way from the club house and a few holes are a hike between them. I would ride if playing eighteen.
Great value
Staff is slways very accomadating.
Recommend to all levels.
Many Improvements
If you have not played this course in awhile you will want to come and see all of the improvements. A lot of fun to play and still a challenge.
