One of the hidden gems. Worth the drive.
Challenging. Good length. Well maintained. No hold ups on the course. Worth the drive. One of my favorite courses in DFW.
Challenging and pretty course 45 min north of Dallas
Very hilly.Twists and turns.High and low elevation par 3s.Blind par 5s and4s.In the middle of nowhere but well worth the drive.I got a 1230 teetime on a thursday for 2 ppl for a total of 17$ each
Excellent Course
Stone Creek is an excellent course. I felt like I was playing in Texas hill country.
Challenging Golf
Stone Creek is a difficult golf course, so bring your "A" game. It would be a good idea to get the hole by hole instructions off of their website before you play. While the course is not pristine, it is in pretty good shape considering our drought conditions. There was only one fairway in really bad shape, but it was roped off for maintenance. Greens are very good. I found it enjoyable since there are many memorable holes. Pace of play was excellent for a Sunday morning.
Great course. Good conditions and I would definitely play this course again.
We were going to play Winstar but they wanted $85 per player. Played with 7 for $210! Long and good layout.
This course is great.
Reminded me of a hiking trip as a child. The course is a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it
The course itself is nice.
Our tee time was 1030. About half the holes had the sprinklers on. We had to dodge sprinklers, avoid mud, ended up with everyone in my group with wet shoes and socks. Very upsetting they couldn't keep the water off during hrs of play. My son said he would never come back to this course. When we turned in our carts, we reported the sprinklers running during play, and they said "yeah your about the fourth complaint we had on that today"
Great place!
I really enjoyed this place! Great challenging course!
Great scenery and challenging layout.
I've played this course several times in the past. The location is not too far from the N.Dallas area. The scenery is great, plenty of woods, elevation changes and creeks to chellenge your game. The staff was friendly and the Golf Now deal $26 was a great value. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a change.
Nice track..
Would have rated it a little higher but the tees on the back had been plugged, fairway grass was quidte long for a Monday and had been spiked. Should have made use of the website to let people know that there was some aerafication. Over all..a solid 4. It's a well layed out course and I did enjoy it..
Hidden gem
What a great surprise. Jim and the staff were great and the course was well conditioned. Plus the bent grass greens were as good as any I've seen in DFW in years. I will be back!!
Great Layout
I've played this course several times now and I really like the layout! The condition of the fairways was a little rough with a good amount of bare ground and cracks. This course does provide however some great scenic views and a varitey of long/med/short holes. From the tips, this is a great test. Plan on local knowledge being important on several holes, especially with some tough pin placements. This course will stay in my rotation of places that take some time to get to (40 min from McK).
Great Layout, but should be in Better Shape
Have played this course over 30 times, over the past 3 years. Fairways need water - several times I was in the middle hitting on hard pan. None of the greens were in bad shape, but only 4 or 5 were in really good shape. This time of year, the course condition should be optimal. Sand traps were in much better shape after being reconditioned (sand added).
This course usually plays in 4 hours.
Other than the fairways needing some water, course was in good shape, The hard fairways did add distance to drives.
nice course layout but lacks attention
Course is definitely in a great location and layout is pretty tough too but the fairways are not properly maintained, lot of weeds rough don't exist much, greens need attention as well.
Excellent greens, good fairways. Nice scenery
Very nice course for North Texas. Well maintained. Challenging but easy enough for novice players. Well worthwhile.
Love all the trees and not crowded at all.
Loved, loved, loved the stone creek golf course. We will defintely be back soon.
Excellent course, some challenges but very fun!
The course has a variety of holes with trouble on each hole whether multiple sand traps protecting landing areas in the fairway or very narrow landing areas for shorter tee shorts setting up your approach. Played from the blue tees which made for several 400+ yard par fours. First time to play the course therefore some of the advantages of playing a second time will be to know how to play the course (blind shots, water in landing areas around doglegs that should be a layup shot.) The greeens were a little tough due to winterizing and the traffic around the holes had created several spike marks. Greens have many undulations but have a pretty true roll even with the winterization process just beginning. Fun course, will certainly play another round on it.
