Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Oaks
About
Hill Country Golf Club offers three nines, all of which sprawl across 200 scenic acres of Texas Hill Country. The terrain is provided with rolling meadows and steep hillsides dotted with tranquil lakes and ponds that come into play throughout the 27 holes. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. From wooded ravines to tree-lined fairways, this nine is a demanding test of accuracy. There are strategically placed bunkers and water comes into play on a few holes. The courses, which were designed by well-known architectural firm Arthur Hill & Associates, have received praise from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Awesome value
The course is in fantastic condition! Get out and play the Hyatt while the weather is spectacular
Good resort course experience
Nice layout. Course in decent shape. Greens only fair. Very grainy. Overall well run operation.
The club house is under construction so no comment. all else was great. wind was over 20 mph so high score. will try again. with better conditions.
Great Course - Give it a week
Overall this is fantastic course in the San Antonio area. Staff is very professional, course is in decent shape (more below) and costs this time around were amazing.
Course Conditions - We got to go off cart path finally, and I saw the ball hit and run for the first time in a while. The greens look like they just got some top dressing with some sand. Although there was noticeable sand, it did not impede the roll of the ball, you just needed to clean your ball each time you putted. The tee boxes were a bit fuzzy in some places, but overall in good shape.
This was my first time being able to use the range prior to teeing off because I was not being rushed off the boxes. The range balls are provided, but the size of the warm up bag is very very small.
The bar area is under renovation too, so off course amenities were limited. I did see the beverage cart more than once as well.
This was the first time playing the creeks; which is probably the most forgiving of the 3 nines. The creeks is wide open with some interesting dog legs, but they were generally very generous to a miss, and not overly penalizing.
I got paired with two beginners - no issues there. However after a few holes, I decided to play on my own and didn't see another group until hole 16 of 18 - I played 18 in about 2 hours and 45 minutes - and that is after playing the first 4 holes in about 45 minutes.
Good course, a bit pricey.
Course is a good layout, challenging to play for first time with a number of blind shots and lots of run outs to carry you into trouble. A bit overpriced vs similar courses. A number of holes have significant tree overhang that could use a good pruning. Greens were in great shape.
Over priced
$130 dollar course, sandy greens, $15 dollar fire ball shots, $65 for two drinks from the cart girls and no hot food at all anywhere. San Antonio golf courses are extremely proud of their courses and should be ashamed of themselves for the price gouging they are doing. It’s really becoming a problem.
Overpriced!
This course was one step up from a municipal course. The staff was friendly but for the price point, definitely not worth it. With some TLC from the grounds crew, this course could be a lot better, in my opinion.
Beautiful place
Very tough course. The rough was impossible. Sand traps were the best that I've seen!
Fun course. Little more difficult than your average resort course due to the many wide spreading oaks lining the fairway. Some elevation but not to hilly.. Good choice if you're looking to get a round in while in San Antonio. This course won't blow your doors off, but is a solid, interesting play.
March golf round
This course is tight off the tee and you probably don't need driver too often but it runs out on you surprisingly so you could think you are hitting a good straight drive and wind up in the scrub oak if you don't know the course. The greens are relatively small and when I played them had been aerated and top dressed so they were slow which made it difficult to put but I always enjoy this course and it is a challenge and a demanding one to keep the ball straight up the tee and play for position.
A great day ruined
Perfect weather, great course and ruined by 4 hacks who couldn't just move aside and let the rest of the field enjoy the day.
Even ask the marshall (player assist) to tell or ask them, nada!
Good value for your money
The three courses are in very good shape, I pkayed oaks and creeks, had great time
