Hill Country Golf Club offers three nines, all of which sprawl across 200 scenic acres of Texas Hill Country. The terrain is provided with rolling meadows and steep hillsides dotted with tranquil lakes and ponds that come into play throughout the 27 holes. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Oaks Nine is named for the towering oaks that blanket the course. From wooded ravines to tree-lined fairways, this nine is a demanding test of accuracy. There are strategically placed bunkers and water comes into play on a few holes. The courses, which were designed by well-known architectural firm Arthur Hill & Associates, have received praise from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Good course

Good course that’s well kept up. Never saw a cart girl/person the whole day. 100+ degree weather didn’t help but it is San Antonio.

Eventual rainout

We had a 1:50 tee time. It started raining about 1:30 with thunder and lightning. We had a delayed start but that’s ok. The course can’t control the weather. We played 5 holes on the Lake course. Absolutely beautiful course in pristine condition. Thunderstorm returned with another delay. Weather cleared and we finished the 9 holes. Thunderstorms returned and all 3 courses were closed for the rest of the day. Beverages and food is a little pricey and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would play this course again. We be played Silverhorn the day before and it can compete with hill country gc. It’s a more laid back atmosphere and less expensive. Love both courses!!

Nice course...just make sure there isn't a tournament.

Nice course but they didn't tell me that there was a tournament when I booked so I ended up playing the same 9 twice and for full price.

Birthday golf trip

Was excellent day good conditions and never felt like we’re being pushed. Marshall did a great job of spacing groups out among the 3 9 hole courses.

We played Oaks for front 9 and Lakes for our back 9

Beautiful Course

There are 3 9-hole courses and the marshals do a great job of putting you in courses so you have a great place of play.

Highly recommend the golf course and staying there. Everyone is great!

4 Stars are you kidding!

Hyatt Hotel and pool are great and the 90% of staff was very friendly except the bartenders in Charlies Long Bar, but like everywhere they were short staffed and sometimes you had to wait awhile to get served! Breakfast buffet was one of the best!

We have a group of 16 to 20 college buddies that have played golf from coast to coast for the past 28 years, and this was by far the worse designed and course conditions that we have ever played on. Many greens on all three courses, Oaks especially had more dirt than grass. The fairways were in good shape, but the rough had more hardpan than grass and the tee boxes were spotty at best! We played 4 rounds of golf and spent almost $500, not worth the cost! Hyatt needs to scrap all 27 holes and bring Fazio or Nicklaus to redesign the entire property. Because the terrain and topography are outstanding with all the oak trees, lakes, creeks, shrubs, and great weather most of the year, they could charge $200+ a round and have a full tee sheet! Spend a little more money and go play an outstanding golf course at La Cantera about 18 minutes away!

Greens in bad shape

For the price it cost to play it’s not worth it. If they know they’re having problems with the greens then low the cost to play. Nice layout

Hyatt

Fairways were dry but lack of rain will do that to a course. The greens were good except for a few that needed some work. Overall the course was in good shape.
