The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
Directions: 20 Minutes from downtown. Take U.S. 90 west to Texas 211 (2 exits past loop 1604) and we on the right. From downtown take 90 west to Texas 211.

Very Good Shape
Again, the fairways and greens were true and smooth. The clearing of brush and grass on ether side of the fairways has opened the course even more.
Stranger
First time playing. Very impressed. Greens roll true. Little yard, so don't shoot at the flag.
The course was in excellent condition. Greens were true and well kept . I had never seen it this good. Kudos to management.
Local knowledge
We were paired up with a couple locals that made the round much more enjoyable. Greens were in great shape but some of the tee boxes were kind in rough shape. Driving range was really tough.
Open country
Great course! Very forgiving and wide open fairways to allow you to play your slice and or hook. Greens are fast and looking great!
Fun time
Course was good for this time of year. Will come back as soon as it greens up. Always worth the 1 hour drive.

The course updates are very greta and the layout and views are still pristine !
Fun Course
Really enjoyed this course, staff is super friendly and helpful. The only issue that kind of was a drag is the pace of play, had some big groups ahead, foursome and five walkers and so it took 4.5 hours to finish.
