Tee box and muddy areas
I like the layout of Wildhawk. However the tee boxes are usually in poor condition. I usually walk the course. There are many muddy area around the course that are muddy mid-summer. I have played the course for a little over 2 year, and learned to avoid playing the after it had rain d in the area.
Sunday @ Wildhawk
I have played Wildhawk a lot and it is always enjoyable. Sunday was very windy and we were behind some slow players so the wind was tough when you are waiting. But had a good time with 3 great friends and i was will recommend Wildhawk for a fun round of golf.
Poor Management Policies
Don’t misunderstand me, this is a nice layout, not too challenging and fun to play. Staff are friendly and helpful. However they are making some basic errors in their policies. Every hour there is a 5 ball. Pace of play consequently terrible. First 9 took us 2 hours and 50 mins (and it is not a long course).
Course etiquette is not enforced. Greens (otherwise fast and true) are littered with pitch marks. Apparently you don’t need to repair them here.
If you are picky about these things then avoids this, whatever the cost. If you are OK with slow play, greens resembling a war zone and other such etiquette indiscretions then I’d recommend it.
Nice away course
Fun course with plenty of challenges. Pace of play can be an issue at this course but not today. Well kept greens, bunkers, and fairways. Great range for warm up, nice cafe/bar.
Poor pace of play
The front nine took 3 hours. We were following a girls high school tournament. I did not finish the round and left after nine holes.
Slow Pace and Course a bit beat up
The Course was a bit beat up, but not unexpected for this late in the season.
The pace of play of agonizingly slow due to the foursome in front of us. It took us almost 5 hrs to complete 18 holes.
I like the Course, overall, and would recommend playing it to those who like a somewhat challenging but fair layout.
Tony,
Thanks for playing WildHawk and your nice comments on the staff. On the day you played we only allowed one fivesome out the entire day and they were all riding per our policy. Sorry the front nine was slow but the group that played just after you completed their round in four hours and 40 minutes, so the back nine did pick up. It was very busy that day since we gave free golf to Veteran's in observance of Veteran's Day. And yes, I wish the golfing public would repair their ball marks!
