1757 Golf Club
About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Enjoyed playing course
First time playing course. Enjoyed the course. Could see bunkers were being worked on. Some balls going in on the unfinished trap bouncing off. Other than this with the bunkers and the course is quite tight on some holes, it was good overall.. Also suggesting a PA announcement on who is next group / time on tee and on deck. Facilities are the best.— driving range with table for drinks and the outdoor sitting area is a nice touch.
Review
Nice course, but with tolls, bunkers all under renovation, aerated greens, and too few ball wash stations, not a great day.
1757 Round
The course is nice but they should mention that both T-Boxes and Greens we under repair. The Sand Traps are all under reconstruction as well. I would play again but not until late September or early October.
1757
The range at 1757 is great - when it’s not closed ! They have a great course - was under aeration and bunker repairs . Good course but need a solid game due to the amount of water and tall grass ! Bring some extra balls
Good course
Tricky layout
The staff was less than welcoming being a first timer. There was an issue with the ball dispenser so the driving range was late to open even though I already purchased a code for a bucket. There was no apology or generic “sorry for your inconvenience” from any staff member. They do have a grass area to hit from on the range but it is hidden to the right on your way to hole one. It would’ve been nice to know that. The first thing the starter says before sending first timers off is “this is a tricky layout and 15 holes are lined with water”. For the price you pay you would think you’d get a yardage book, or at least a score card with pictures of each hole on it, instead you get a black and white scorecard with no pictures or course layout. Conditions were good (considering the bunker repairs and aeration) but the funky layout and staff make it hard to recommend at their price point.
Sand Traps
They were all under repair. Hopefully they will get some sand in soon.
Course conditions, terrible! Ball marks and divots everywhere! Play was at a snail's pace!
With as tight as the fairways are, and as much water that comes into play, one would expect those things to be the most challenging part of the course layout. But the sheer number of unrepaired ball marks and divots was in the hundreds for each whole. Even on the tee boxes, really? To make matters worse, the pace of play was terrible, with no Marshall's anywhere on the course. Took 5 hours to get through one round that should have taken 4 hours.
For the water lover
Great tips from the starter
The App is a must if you're new to the course
The fairways, bunkers and greens were in good shape.
Lot's of ways to get into trouble especially, if you don't know the course well.
Pace of play was great, especially for a weekend.
There was no beverage service on a hot humid day.
If you're walking, it's a long hike from 9 to 10.
Great exercise.
Nice condition overall
Greens were pock marked but rolled pretty true. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape.
Over priced for course condition
1757 was a great layout and had fantastic facilities. However $85 for a round you would expect the course to be in better condition. It appears these members never fix their own divots on fairways or greens, and there is no evidence of the staff fixing them either. Good luck trying to putt. The price should be in the range of $50-$60 for course conditions.
