Olympia Hills Golf Course
About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Tale of Two Nines
I spoke with the pro shop the day before playing that I would be coming alone and he assured me they'd take of me and they did. Every staff member I encountered was cordial and helpful. I loaded up in an EZ-Go cart w/out GPS and headed out to the practice area. The grass on the range was nice & green while the balls are limited flight and are a little worn. The short game area is tight but just having one is a big plus. The putting green was in very good shape and mirrored the greens on the course.
The starter was very friendly and got me off without a hitch. Pace of play was not an issue today. The first nine winds through and up and down some narrow fairways shaped by dense trees vegetation on both sides. Playing for "ground slice" is something that needs to be considered with the sloped, dormant fairways offering extra run out but not always in the right direction. Following your tee shot on #11 you drop down into a flat, less wooded tract of land where the paralleling holes become visible and the wind more noticeable. #16-#18 offer a nice finishing stretch with a challenge, yet an opportunity to pick up a shot.
The highlight of this round was definitely the greens. They had excellent speed, tracking as well as a firmness that still held well. All very consistent throughout. The undulations help defend and being on wrong side of some pins could quickly become frustrating. The bunkers had decent amount of sand, but some could use an additional rake.
Top notch experience and value. Definitely a re-play.
Under construction/bad greens
Front 9 under construction and greens are pretty bad!
The back nine are terrible.Greens, fairways, sand traps are all in bad conditions.
The most disappointing golf course ever
The golf course is in a terrible condition.
All of the green had no grass.
We only played 4 or 5 holes and walked off the course. We used to play there all the time, it was a wonderful place.
We made our business to comeback from SPI to play there.
I don’t have the correct words to describe how nasty this place is.
Disgraceful 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
UNDER CONSTRUCTION !!!
REPAIRS AND TEMPORARY HOLES !
PACE OF PLAY TERRIBLE
Played on Sunday 7 April. This course has a great layout, however the greens fairways and tee boxes are not in good shape and have not been in several years. Their is never a marshall to montior pace of play they allowed a 5 some and then a group of 4 with 2 small toddlers. Round took nearly 5.5 hours with a wait at every tee box and not once did i pass a marshall or see one
Terrible Greens
Fairways were pretty good on most holes but the greens were atrocious. We putted through legit dirt on several holes. Not worth the money they’re charging at all.
Under Construction
Long delay to start due to Ladies tournament. The fairways were bare on many holes-a lot of GUR markings.
Decent Course
It's okay for a public course. I played on Easter weekend so the pace of play was rather slow. Had people hitting on us while on the fairway. The course is currently under construction and wasn't worth paying a full $55. The back 9 was in a much better condition than the front 9. Be prepared to bring your A game on the greens as they are hard as a rock. Would definitely play again.
Holes Under Construction.
First few holes were under construction which was a blemish on the course. The roughs were not always in good shape, most of the greens were in good shape. Not bad for this time of the year.
The course layout was great. Many holes had nicely elevated tee boxes and nice fairways winding through the valleys.
We were caught behind a High School Ladies tournament, which slowed down play tremendously for the first 5 holes.
Slow pace of play due to girls golf tournament
The course was in good shape, however the management at the course scheduled / stacked so many people to t-off during a girls golf tournament, which made for tremendously slow pace of play while the girls were still playing. If you book this course, just make sure there are no golf tournaments scheduled for the day you’re playing.
Too much construction
The course has potential but too many Par 3s now due to construction. Several temporary holes. Greens in poor shape too.
Olympia Hills in Good Shape
It may be early in the year and much needed drainage work being done but Olympia Hills is in good shape. Fairways and greens growing in nicely.
Always friendly staff and great value.
Beautiful course
Not from the San Antonio area just down here for work. Found this course on google maps and I was surprise how nice it was. The course was in great condition. 100% recommend.
Extremely confusing
First nine were awful. The course is under construction. It was 56 dollars to play nine temporary holes. I will not be playing again
