River Bend Golf Club
About
River Bend Golf Club combines some of the most unique play in the area with a course designed to provide an exciting golfing experience for players of all levels. Beautiful oak trees and meandering streams give the golf course its character, with elevation changes, multi-tiered greens and challenging areas of forced carry-including water features-and areas of forced lay-up in a links-style course, especially on the front 9. The back 9 is a more traditional golf course. All of this combined with the Texas wind makes River Bend a formidable challenge for even scratch golfers. It's one of the only only true links courses in south Texas. The staff is super and the course is very affordable. River Bend Golf Club has a unique practice facility that features an aqua range with an island green. A large putting green makes the Maverick a super practice area.

THe bunkers have sand now!
Last month when I played the bunkers were in very bad shape. On they all have sand and are in very good shape.
Not in good condition
The “fairways” were pretty bare; greens not in good shape. Pace was good until the 5th hole when a twosome joined a threesome in front of us that must’ve been playing for money-taking forever putting, had to go around them on 11 after waiting on every hole since 6! Pro shop had 1 hot dog to sell at 2PM-she said it would take 25 minutes for another, but even after the round, no hot dogs after asking her to make more for later! Started out having to change golf carts-given one with a flat tire!
Wide open
Wide open fairways, some very long par fours, course is in reasonable condition for this time of year. Great place to warm up and hit balls - a unique island green. Nice place for a drink on the 19th hole. Excellent value course for the money!
Floresville Golf
I really enjoy this course for a small town. The staff I've run into aren't very friendly. Seem to kinda just want to push you out the door or hurry with the interaction. The course is laid out great! The greens are pretty dry and inconsistent. There is a grill here but that's about it off the course. Overall a pretty nice course.
Same hardpan fairways, now featuring greens that are completely gone!
This place has always had pretty hard packed fairways that have a lack of grass, but the greens at least had some upkeep. It’s been a year or two since visiting, but this time around It was almost unplayable from the approach shot to the hole. If you want to brag about how far you drive the ball, this is your course. I had several drives roll out to nearly 375 after hitting the ground 100 yards shorter in carry. These concrete fairways haven’t been core aerated since the Eagleford was booming. Even at the $22/person I felt ripped off. Topping it off was the three six-somes they allowed on the course in front of us making the round take 4h40m. Tee’d off at 1:20 chasing daylight by the end with the back 9 taking 2h40m and the uncharged cart barely getting us back….sheesh.
Ray's review
The attendant was terrible!! The counter had no one attending it. I waited for about 10min and no one came. The was a set of cart keys so I took them and proceed to get a cart. Some person started yelling at me that I needed to have checked in. I told him that there was no one there. He yelled at me that he was the person manning the check in. I told him that how was I to know that he was who I needed to checking with. I asked him if he saw me walk in to the club house and he said that he did see me. So I said that he needed to have followed me in to attend to the check in process. I said then lets go and chech me in so that I can start my round. He continued to bader me during the whole process of checking in. I asked him twice to lets just get this over with so that I could start my round. Even as I was walking HE CONTINUED TO BADGER ME!
Absolutely atrocious
$47 for 18 horrible holes on twilight. Please stay away unless you wanna play a course that feels like your own a farm league baseball field. I’ve never seen worse fairways and greens in all of my time playing golf. Staff was nice at least to make up for the atrocity when we stepped onto hole 1. Please save your money and sanity.
Worth less than what you pay for
This course was only $37 to play, but it wasn't worth that. The fairways were mainly hard packed dirt, with the occasional patch of grass. The greens were better, but still mostly dead and dried grass.
The carts were the fairly nice at least.
Round About
Good cheap place to play but need to drive a bit to get there. Tee times always available. Course layout acceptable on the front but a couple of holes on the back need to be reconfigured. Front conditions good back condition not so good due to the lower near the creek elevation. Quick pace of playing. If in the vicinity go for it!
Course conditions are way under average.
Great price but I’d rather pay a bit more and get a better course
Great shape
Probably the best price you’re going to pay for a course in the this condition. The value is outstanding.
Great morning round
This course is wonderful I always have a good time at this course the pace of play could be better
