Best Value and Course!
Upon entering the clubhouse I felt relax as one should in Concan. I bought my range balls and was lucky enough to show up an hour before my tee time to enjoy it and their chipping facilities. Both in superb condition. The fairways and greens were superb. Especially for being recently rolled. This is a must play for anyone and a great value and the management from greens to clubhouse know how to please a golfer!
Trapped
The greens are coming in nicely and the fairways are in great shape. The traps really, really need some work. I know it is tough with all the wildlife trotting through them every night, but they need to be weeded, hard sand broken up, and new softer sand added. The up side is there is very little traffic and you can play really quickly.
Hill country golf
Really enjoyed this course. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful spring flowers. The course was a bit rough—they’d had lots of rainand hadn’t quite caught up with rough mowing and sand traps. Great layout and beautiful location. Will definitely play again
Tee to green very good ,BUT
The greens are having some serious problems in terms of dead spots in the grass, and the bunkers need some maintenance as they are so bad in terms of never being raked it is impossible to get a shot out of them.
Great Course except for greens
Course was in great shape with exception of greens. Greens had a lot of sand with a lot of grassy weed plugs sticking up all over that changed direction of ball on putts. Carts were very slow and sluggish also. Tee to green was excellent however.
Beautiful location great course but has been neglected, need lots of work on the greens and traps
Beautiful!!!
Real nice great view great course some green need work but still wonderful love coming here
course is in great condition for winter play. greens are firm yet roll true and fairways provide great lies except on errant shots into thick hill country brush
Hill Country Golf
one of the best hill country golf courses in Texas. The length of the course and the layout make this a challenging venue. The greens were fast and the breaks were deceiving. The only bad thing about the course is how far it is from San Antonio. A guide to new players with recommendations to what tees should be played based on their handicap would be helpful.
Hill country treasure
Great course tucked into the Texas hill country about 90 miles west of San Antonio. Never seen better maintained fairways and greens on a public course. Traps still need some work, which appears to be underway now.
Course is in GREAT shape
The course is in excellent condition. Previous concerns about the filled in BUNKERS is over. Filled in Bunkers are level and grass is growing. Looks like they are leaving the BUNKER grass cut longer to play as "in the rough." Fairways are EXCELLENT, greens and fairways are also EXCELLENT. If you reading this, GO PLAY the course ASAP.
The Club at Concan is a course in EXCELLENT condition with scenic beauty and hill country magic! 10 on a scale of 1-10. Nuff said?
If Live in San Antonio....Go Play
I have seen and heard about this place....it's a Drive....But Worth the drive.....Easy Drive out 90 to Hondo and then North....They have filled in a few of the bunkers...shame really...it plays much easier then the course rating.....But super fun....and still worth the drive.....Grab a HotDeal from Golfnow....I played for $12......yep....$12 bucks........
