Reviews
Mr
Course was excellent as usual. Cannot wait to play again.
Very nice layout
Great course, excellent food and friendly staff. What more could anyone ask for?
Awsome Course
If you haven't played this course you are missing out on a great experience and wonderful scenery.
If you want to challenge yourself....
Great Course to play, especially when its forecasted to be great weather....greens are challenging, have to play often to be able to read the greens.
Course is a great value
The greens are slower than they appear. Fairways and greens are a bit dry. Overall conditions are good for the value. The drive out is very pleasant.
Great course
Great course conditions. Nice hazard placement. Course was fun, played with my high school folders. They also loved it. They thought it was challenging because of the hazards.
was challenging
course was not easy but fair I just had a bad day on the greens
Must play!
Hill Country golf at its finest!!! As serene a round of golf as you will ever play with spectacular views! A challenging track with a great mix of holes.
Great layout
This course is a little out of the way, but is worth the 1 1/2 hr. drive from San Antonio. This was my second time playing this course and was pleased with the overall experience. A great layout and design that will call for every club in your bag. There are several tees to choose from to accommodate all golfers. The only thing that stood out in my mind as needing attention were the greens. There were several that needed some attention, as they were dry and crusty, which had some putts bouncing around. Smoother, more predictable greens would have this course at 5 stars. I would definitely recommend this course.
Wow! Beautiful and Challenging
The course is breathtaking and offers challenges for every skill level. The facilities are top notch and the staff are extremely friendly. We will return to this course very soon and look forward to the challenge!
Good course
Challenging course. Greens were really good. Had a great time.
Not quite as hyped
This was my first time to play the course. We drove out there from San Antonio to check it out after reading several reviews on it. The reviews I read made it seem like a really good value but that was not the case. The young lady that checked us in was rude (in my opinion) and pretty much said herself that she didn't want to be there. The snack bar area was nice and the young lady there was friendly enough. They had complimentary ice tea and lemonade which was nice. There was ice in several ice chests around the clubhouse where you could fill up your ice chests that go on the carts. The practice area was sufficient but the practice green was very rough and bouncy. We were hoping that the greens were in better shape on the course since we had read several recent reviews stating that they were and that they were US Open fast in some cases. They weren't any better than the practice greens. Water was not very available on the course and there was no ice in the ice chests on the course. There was no refreshment cart going around to help out either. I understand that it was a Friday and that they weren't extremely busy but when we finished our round and I saw that there were now two young ladies in the snack bar area I wondered why one of them couldn't have come around once in a cart during a 4 hour round of golf to see if anyone needed anything. There was no fruit on the course as we had read in some of the reviews as well. No big deal since that isn't the norm but when you read that it is there and it isn't it is a little disappointing. Oh, and we were playing behind a sixsome on the front nine which was slow. We passed them on the turn which allowed us to get our round done in 4 hours. I will try this place again at some point but I was severely disappointed after reading the previous reviews.
Great Value x Good Fun = Concan
Played the Club at Concan on 8/31 and enjoyed every minute of it. The course was extremely well designed, however you must note that the fairways are Zoysia and thus will struggle in summers to hold color. The beauty of Zoysia is that the ball is practically teed up for you as long as you are in the short stuff. The greens were rolling fast and in some cases US Open speeds but extremely fair and fun to putt. Great course design and look forward to returning as the weather cools a bit. The staff was extremely friendly as there were coolers with water, apples and oranges throughout the course. I've played a lot of golf throughout the country and its rare that I want to return somewhere when the drive could be 90 minutes plus. Great value and good fun!
Quality course for the price
Great golf course for the price It was the first time to play this course which turned out to be a very challenging adventure it's a must play
Course is in great condition...
Owners are spending money on improving this course. Fairways are GREEN, Rough/Tee Boxes are GREENER, Greens are light GREEN and fast. To get this course this green in the middle of August cost mucho dinero. Tee Boxes are in excellent condition and at several Tee Boxes, rustic coolers with apple, oranges, bananas on ice are available. Owners are enhancing the aesthetics of the course, putting in green border steel around trees/bushes and backfilling with mulch near "fishing lake." Take your wife and a camera to this course.
Elevated Tee Boxes with views of the green and scenic TX Hill Country. One of a kind golf course. Go Play this course. Ask about the recently opened 15 room Motel next to golf course for getaway Golf.... And check concert schedule to see when Pat Green or Kevin Fowler will play there again.
Great Value
If you are having a poor round, the views will take your mind off of it. The course is well worth the drive of 1.5 hours. The course in very good shape and greens are fast. I will return in the future.
