Great Course and Staff
This place does not disappoint. Played in the wind and that was challenging for sure on this layout. Great mix of holes, fun xourse and the staff does a great job. Nice carts with GPS, excellent grass range. Always love playing here.
Top Tier Track
Great course, great amenities, great staff! Course conditions are always pristine. Pace of play can be slow at times, but nothing crazy.
This is a must play course for the area.
Great Course in Great Shape
Course was in super shape. Greens were running true. Excellent experience.
Vastly Overrated
After all these years I finally got around to playing Bolingbrook. Full disclosure - I've never been a fan of Arthur Hills designed courses and I'm still not. The only A Hills course I've ever liked is Stonewall Orchard in Graylake and I've played well more than 25 of his courses. Bolingbrook was course I couldn't and wouldn't justify the cost to play it as it's always very expensive - 84 weekdays, 100 weekends. A member of the club invited me so I got a large break on their rack rate....making it much more palatable.
Yep the amenities are all there - clubhouse/locker room with attendant, nice bar and restaurant. Grass driving range and a large putting green. Missing - practice sand trap although I bet there might be one on the opposite side of the range where the teaching center is.
Little to no shade on the course. Water & Restrooms on course. Expensive halfway house. Fairly well kept but for a course to have a full 5 star rating the greens should be impeccable - these were absolutely not...lot's of ball marks many poorly repaired or not at all. Bumpy as well. Fairways had lots of unfilled divots but there is mix on the carts. The rough - very lush and does need a small trim - right now it's very difficult and penal.
Some smaller greens but most if not all of them have a ridge in them diagonally and if you're on the wrong side of that ridge forget it. A number of flags were placed on top of or very near the ridge.....It just gets old - A Hills with angled bunkers so you have to play to one side or other of the fairway to have a decent angle to hit your approach shots in. Challenging yes but the sameness of the constructions to each of the holes becomes very evident by the back nine. Usually this course is windswept and becomes a beast...lucky to have light winds during play.
As I said - the designer and now this course just aren't my cup of tea but it's a decent, has excellent overall facilities..... however a very expensive play. 4 stars but definitely not a 4.5 or 5. Recommend for play but your wallet will be a lot lighter...and you'll get a good tan. I'd much rather play nearby Mistwood for the same cost.....much superior course design and conditioning for about the same cost.
Will be back!
Great course! First time here, but will be back! The course has allot of blind shots into generally small greens, which can make scoring pretty tough here without more course knowledge. The windy day made it even tougher, but everything was great... including what was maybe the best on course hot dog I've ever had at the turn.
Good Value - Great Course
Course was in excellent shape. Rough was high although fairways are fairly generous. Pace was decent, although we got behind a fairly slow group. Players need to fix divots. Big problem, unfortunately
Incredible
First time playing this course. I was extremely impressed. So much fun. Challenging but fair. Perfect condition. Best public course I’ve played in the Chicagoland area.
Nice course
Great course , nice layout. Wide open so the wind will be a factor
Highly recommend nice people working here
