Challenging Course in Great Condition
I've played Tunica National twice now and the conditions have been great both times. The only knock were the bunker conditions - probably needed some new sand and attention to the walls. Pace of play was great. I played two balls on multiple holes due to no one being near us. The course is narrow with plenty of water hazards.
Best golf option anywhere close to Memphis TN
In my opinion, this is by far the best golf option anywhere close to Memphis. Nothing else comes close. Quality of course, practice area, upkeep, and best of all price make it untouchable. A true championship layout with world class practice area. Lots of hazards, lots of challenges, you can play it as long as you can handle. Greens do vary day to day in speed but are never in bad condition or slow.
A couple things to keep in mind before you go:
- It is a down home place, so you may encounter a group of 5 (or even more). But don't worry, everyone is friendly and will step aside and let you play through
- There is no starter (or marshaller), which I like, but might make some people a bit nervous. Just be ready to go on time and it will all work out fine.
-. Weekends can be a real bear with all the out-of-towners playing the weekend from the casino, so bring an ample supply of patience or try to play durung the week
I Love Tunica
We have golfed here everytime we travel to Memphis to visit relatives, we look foreward to it. The course is always great and never too crowded. It was winter just turning to spring but the golf was still great. The layout is challenging and fun. Wide open fairways but you still have to hit fairly straight shots to stay out of trouble. We always have lunch, the food is really good, best cheeseburgers. Also the bartender makes a strong drink. Staff is very friendly.
Great course to play!
course in great shape. greens are rolling true for this time of year. Staff is friendly and helpful.
I need to come back.
Very windy day and it’s early in the year, so the grass hasn’t come in yet. I loved the layout and all the water challenges. Will come back in the late Spring or Summer. I’ll probably stay at the hotel to take in the entire resort.
I only gave the course a fair because it was really windy.
Great course Tunica National!!!!
Very challenging golf course
Love this golf course, this course really challenge your golf game.
Maintenance on course
February is a difficult time of year to play but maintenance was on the course and didn’t seem to pay attention to players. Many of them were at spots where I would be hitting into. A mis hit would have hit them and I quit playing the holes where they were. My only advice to the club is coach maintenance to pay attention and keep an eye on players, waive them through to keep from playing into employees.
Enjoyed the round... only one negative...
Course was in fine condition for middle of Winter... Only issue I had was that there were several bunkers filled with water... Other than that, great condition!
Course was great
The greens were recently punched but they were still rolling pure. Superintendent is doing a great job with the entire course. The bunkers had sand and were playable.
Kinda boring
Memphis is a bit of a backwater from a golfing perspective so we drove down to Tunica, MS. This course is in the middle of nowhere and flat and pretty nondescript. $53 is apparently not enough to get you range balls ($10 for 35 balls). The pace of play was slow with no marshal to speed things up. The course was really wet with the bunkers washed out, the greens were decent but the course is just blah and unmemorable.
