Not worth the money
It was an executive course and barely had any par 4. Got there for an 11:45 tee time and the three some I was playing with was also at the course a little. The old man in the pro shop refused to let us go early even thought no one was ahead of us or behind us. It was not a busy day. He insisted on keeping the time we booked on golf now. He was pretty annal about an executive course. All of us was visiting from out of town. The course was not in great shape at all. Not worth the cost. Definitely not going back for my remaining 2 weeks
Challenging
Lots of water to sink your shots. Sloped greens will test your nerves. Not for beginners. Frustration can set in quickly with many hazards throughout the course. Staff can be a bit unfriendly toward golf now patrons. Not sure why or what happened in the past. The fun starts on the first tee anyway. Cheers!
Ouch
Tee boxes were mounded
No flat area to tee off from
All greens were mounds also
Sabal Springs
Even though this is an executive course, it is not easy at all. The greens were so quick you couldn't get a chip to stop. Easy to 3 putt. The greens seemed like they were all humped and the tee boxes definitely were; not flat at all. I am a 9.6 handicap index and from this course rating and distance I would probably be a 4-5 HC. I shot 14 over par at this course. The guy in the Pro Shop was very friendly and gave us advice on a few holes. He didn't tell me until after our round that they had just rolled the greens. But we figured that out in a hurry. There are a few Par 4s but pretty short. I never touched my driver all day but you would expect that on an executive course. The layout is pretty tight and winds through the housing. I will say it is a pretty course and pretty well maintained. Number 18 was the best hole on the course. Be warned, you can't go in the Pro Shop without a mask. Had i not already paid for the round through GolfNow I would have probably left. But I went back to my car and found a mask. The club house is enormous. Not sure what all they do in there but it is a Taj Mahal of the property.
Big Russ
Course is very tight lots of mounds to rederect your shot to a out of bounds or a pond you will need a few extra balls. Normally I will play a round with the same ball for the entire round. I lost four balls due to rebounds off mounds. Never saw another golfer my entire round. Greens were in good shape but very very fast. I say 8 to 10 on a stemp meter. Would recommend to play again but will have to bring more water balls.
We left before we played
The rudest staff around. Followed us out of Pro Shop still yelling about "the rules" even though the course was wide open. We got our money back and left. There's a reason this course was open and cheap.
Staff Needs Anger Management Training
We never got to play. We were basically told to leave because we asked if we could play as a couple because of Covid concerns. The first hole was open and we were told we were going to have to wait 10 minutes for a single to show up. When I simply asked if we could just go since the course was open the guy in charge snapped and went on a rant, saying he was in charge and this is how he did things. He offered a refund. We took it and went to play somewhere else. I suggest you do the same. I would strongly recommend this guy get some training in anger management and customer relations.
GolfNow gave me the wrong tee time. Sabal Springs honored my golf coupon anyway.
