Greynolds Golf Course
About
Formerly the site of a rock quarry, the par-36, nine-hole Greynolds Golf Course now shares the landscape with a hardwood hammock and mangrove forest that is one of the most well protected natural areas in northern Miami. The carefully preserved surroundings support an abundance of wildlife including several species of birds and rare, colorful butterflies. The golf course is part of Greynolds Park, which offers scenic camping grounds and numerous nature trails in addition to the golf course. There are also excellent opportunities for kayaking and canoeing thanks to the Oleta River, which runs alongside the east side of the park. Opened in 1964, the golf course has a traditional layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. More advanced players can enjoy a quick round while less experienced golfers can get in some good practice.

Good course for the money
Good course condition for the price, club house had slim pickings. Staff was nice. No starter for the round, so there was a lot of confusion on play. No rangers on on the course either to manage flow of play. There were a bunch of walkers on the course when we went out
Fivesome anyone???
I typically do not rate golf courses, considering everyone has different likes and dislikes. In this case, I'll make an exception. On a crowded Saturday in which you had to wait for a powered cart to return before being able to go out, the starter let a twosome and a threesome go out together as a "fivesome" two groups ahead of my group. Three hours for a nine-hole course is unbearable, and almost unbelievable. We waited on every hole, and we were a foursome. When told about the "fivesome' grouping, the individual behind the pay counter shrugged and said that they weren't supposed to that. Oh well...
As for the course itself, it was a really nice layout, with a good mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's. As they say, "the course has good bones". The conditions were mixed. The greens were in perfect shape, and I guess that's where the money is spent, since the tee boxes and fairways were in need of repair. One thing about the greens, they hadn't appeared to have been mowed that day, with the greens awfully slow. You can tell when a ball mark was placed on the putting surface, and it could be pushed down well in to the grass. Otherwise, it was a fun day!
Unimpressed
No proper putting green. Fairway not in good shape.
Greens were not cut and had many dead or diseased patches. No food available, sandwiches, wraps ect. Locals had warned me that this course was not as good as the reviews suggest. Too bad I trusted some of the previous reviews. My bad.
9 hole with rental clubs
It was a good course to get the rust off, just wish I had my own clubs.
Practice 9
As a place just to get in some inexpensive swings with soso rental clubs it was good and made me appreciate the clubs I have at home!
Charming muni in a park
This is a charming nine hole muni located inside Greynolds Park. Perfect for walking. Generous landing areas off the tee, but second shots to the green are deceptively difficult. Conditions are not great, with very slow greens, but fees are very reasonable so a good place to practice and get your steps in.
