TPC Harding Park - Fleming Course

About
Featuring six par 3s and three par 4s, the nine-hole Fleming course serves as the beginner-friendly, grow-the-game short course at the TPC Harding Park. As a par 30 that plays 2,165 yards, it's more affordable, faster to play and easier to score on than the regulation course that hosts top tournaments. The Fleming does not take tee times. Golfers just show up and play. Wait times can happen on busy days, so plan accordingly.

Fleming a great surprise
I had never considered playing the Fleming in past visits to TPC Harding Park. That will change moving forward now that I've seen it.
It's unlike any "short" course you'll play. This isn't a pitch and putt or afterthought like most executive courses. It's the "major championship" of short courses. Every hole could easily bump up into the playing rotation on the big course that hosted the 2020 PGA Championship. The two shortest par 3s are "only" 140 yards. The longest is a 235-yard driver for most of us. Two of the par 4s are monsters, the 405-yard first and 425-yard 7th. The fun one is the 260-yard 8th. Rough almost as thick as the main course, a few tiny saucier-like greens and bunkers provide all the challenge you'll ever need.
Fun!
I am int eh middle of a NorCal SHort Course/9 hole course blitz and I am extremely happy to have fit this into my schedule on an impromptu day trip to San Francisco. Pro Shop guy was veryfriendly and got me checked in right at noon on a Monday afternoon. I played as a single and tailed an older gentlemen in a cart.
Course was absolutely delightful. Although no real signature hole, the layout was solid and fun. Views of the "big" course are almost always present and it was cool seeing the new tee boxes for the PGA Championship next year.
Definitely a must play for golfers of all levels.
Many will sell this to you as one of the best public access courses in the country. However, despite being the host of the 2020 PGA Championship and 2025 Presidents Cup, there is very little of note to see here. The front nine's layout is so basic it borders on being boring. The back nine features more interesting terrain to play on, but one feels that the property could've been used better. Upon approaching some green complexes, I got the sense that I had just played it on the previous hole.
Great course but watch out for weather
It is a great 9-hole course for beginners and intermediates. But, the weather could be cold and wet even during summer time. Well, this is typical San Francisco weather.
A great walk
With no advance tee times you need to find an "off" day to play here. I had no problem getting on by myself on a Spring Tuesday. Very easy walk. Good conditions throughout. I will be back often.
And the restaurant is EXCELLENT.
Love this course. First fairly clear weekend in weeks, so the place was predictably packed. Fleming doesn't do tee times, so there was quite the line to launch. Still, with a little patience, it was, as always, a fun track.
Pace of play
The course was beautiful and well-maintained compared to the last time I played. I do not understand why they have first come first serve on the nine hole course when you have to make a reservation also the pace of play needs to be addressed
If you have a time I would recommend the course.
Great layout and a challenge
We had tee time and played in a nice paced hour and a half . Greens are fair and fairways are well kept . Golf advisor saved us some money we spent at lunch in the clu house. Very good restaurant with views of #18. Great mid day outing.
Long and straight
A few par 3s were long like 200 230 greens ok fairways good holes straight up and down
Fun Course
Fun little course, got out at the right time on a beautiful day so the pace was good. The greens were great, restaurant always good, good service
Good Course
Our play was good, however they are renovating ALL of the greens and so ALL of the distances were much shorter and actual greens were in the fairway making the putting much slower. I can't wait to play when the renovation is complete, it will be awesome!
TERRIBLE greens
Under construction, so we were told, but we weren't told that EVERY SINGLE GREEN was NOT IN USE. The yardage wasn't marked to reflect the shortened holes, it was ridiculous.
Should have been half price or LESS.
Makes Golden Gate Park 9 hole seem like PGA material.
Do NOT play Fleming. It's not worth $25.
green are slow
no fun when you putting all the green speed are way too slow
Great Place
This was a great course definitely worth the money.
Good round
Very good course. Got an inexpensive round go golf thru golfnow.com
Interesting course layout for nine holes. Very good practiceourse
Fog lifted revealing paradise
Very enjoyable experience & looking forward to playing another round. We had a cart which had to be kept on the path at all times which required almost as much walking as no cart. Will play again & will walk.
Harding/Fleming did not want to honor Golfnow rate
Fleming is a good 9 hole course kept in decent condition. Great for a casual couple of hours golf. However, my experience was somewhat tempered by a member of staff in Harding's pro shop when I arrived to pay for the round. Basically, they did not want to honor the golfnow Fleming cart rate of $32 I booked 3 days prior to the round. I had to pull up my email confirmation and haggle with the guy until he agreed to accept the rate I had booked. This annoyed me quite a bit. His response was that they no longer take reservations for Fleming and have had trouble with golfnow.com in the past and do not want to honor any rates for fleming that appear on the website. Be aware of this! I argued it was not my problem and he eventually gave me the discounted rate but he was quite rude in doing so. Not the welcoming experience I was hoping for. They should sort out their problems with golfnow rather than try and stiff the customer when he pays for a legit discount online.
