Tomoka Oaks Golf & Country Club

I'm a struggling golfer and I thought this to be a great layout. I have a horrible slice and the fairways leave a lot of room for some spraying. The greens are being built up and taken care of (seems like they are fixing those and the surrounding area before fixing fairways and tee boxes). Approaching greens and pitch shots are pretty difficult because there is usually a bunker to protect the green (going long would've saved me about 6 strokeS). There aren't a lot of amenities (I wasn't expecting much anyways) but there is a good driving range and practice green. Definitely a good deal for a high handicap golfer who just wants to relax.

for the money I paid thru golfnow.......a great course for the money......a little rough around the edges....the greens were excellant.....lots of dog-legs...a.good practice round

Tomoka Oaks fell on hard times a few years back and in 2014, the course conditions were poor. The good news is that since that time, greens have been significantly improved and the general course condition is on the mend. If one is looking for a higher end course Tomoka is not the place to go but for the 'duffer' it offers a very reasonably priced course with some rather pretty holes. The restaurant fare, while limited, is very tasty. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

This course now has the best greens in the area, to say nothing of the finest deals on Golfnow! The improving condition of this course over the last two years has been remarkable. Fairways and tee boxes haven't quite caught up to the greens but are very playable none the less. A few more good carts and we will be all set, place deserves kudo's.

coarse layout is great. Lots of dog legs. Coarse condition fair, greens pocmarked, fairways rough. No roughs anywhere all sand. tough to chip over all the sand traps without being able to get under the ball.
Clubhouse and facilities need serious updating and remodeling.

in its time this course must have been tops the tree line is beautiful

The course was in awful condition. Sparse grass in the fairway, greens were riddled with spots of dead areas and very bumpy.

I really enjoyed this golf course, the fairways are wide enough for any player yet the greens are small enough to demand some good shots. I played this course three days in a row, I rarely do that on vacation.

Pretty standard for the time it was built. Straight forward, relatively short, very little water. Only lost 2 balls.

This was probably a fine course at one time, but not now . Most tees are in terrible shape , not flat and little grass. The fairways are hard and have very little grass and the greens are in bad shape,
Nice design ,small greens and many sand traps , but little or no money has been spent to maintain the course, too bad because it could be very good

Improving course conditions make this course a good value. Small greens make approach shots challenging. 6300 yards from the white tees

This used to be a nice ...once upon a time. Now Tee boxes bad, fairways were fair at best, greens very bad !!

Other than the fact that there are fairways and greens, it's difficult to call this a golf course. T-boxes in very poor condition; few ball washers; terrible bunkers; not much grass on fairways.
Greens aren't too bad and the staff is very friendly. The other golfers I saw were driving right up to the front of the greens and leaving the cart there while finishing the hole.
I cannot understand the good ratings given to this course.

Not the plush course most are used to but weeds were cut and you still have to put the ball in the cup

Condition of fairways and greens just fair,rough is just that,rough.The course was fun because of the different shots ,i.e. draws and fades needed to stay in good shape off the tee.Small greens and sand traps well placed.

Tomoka at first glance was disapointing as rough around the 1st tee box was really rough and overgrown. Once off the tee the fairways were in pretty good shape and very wide and accomodating to a player of my caliber. The greens were small but also in good shape. This is not your immaculate course with paved cart paths and manicured fairways. It is a good value for your money and enjoyable to play.

Course is getting better. Tee boxes are in good shape. Fairways are coming along nicely. Green are good. The ruff needs help.

under maintained course. Cannot identify fairway vs rough. Weeds out of control all over tee boxes fairways and greens. Would not recommend to anyone!

The course needs a great deal of work - cart paths? weeds, bunkers overgrown in many places, greens not completely filled in.
Very inexpensive but so it should have been.
Pace of play - 2:20 front 9 then after the 12th no one on the course so back 9 was 1:25 - there was a four person match ahead of us and it ended on the 12th.
However, my wife and I had a beautiful day to play so enjoyed despite feeling that the course needed a lot of upkeep
