Palatka Golf Club
About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

Hidden Gem
Had heard some good things about this course so made my way over from St. Augustine area to give it a crack - anytime you can play a Donald Ross layout for $25 you gotta go - little rough around the edges, course not the condition you find many of the Florida courses this time of year but not terrible -small greens were mostly slow, probably from morning dew but did face some speedy down hill putts that had plenty of pace - good design of holes and par 3's were tough, especilly #3 - almost 190 uphill from blue tees - after playing most Florida courses with lots of water in play this course offered just a bit less stress - only complaint is one I have with many courses - trouble immediately in front of the red ( up front) tees - my wife is a relative beginner so she sometimes struggles getting the ball in the air - one of my pet beefs with designers is putting trouble - water - sand - etc right in front of those up tees and gobbling up shots of people who need all the encouragement & help they can get when first atking up the game - other than that a nice day & I would return
Challenging fun
Beautiful old trees, small elevated greens, but greens inconsistent and slow. Holes are close together, with some tees far to close to prior green. Max 6100 yards, thus not a course for long hitters.
Great Donald Ross design
Course was in very good condition. Greens and fairways were well maintained. Small elevated greens. Very good value for the money. Also this course is made for walkers, but most people are in carts anyway.
Great course for the money's
A true Donald ross course. Very long. Fairways and greens in great condition.
Friday Golf
Friendly staff, quick start, good pace of play,.
Keep it in the fairway and you’ll be fine. Tee boxes are a bit close to certain greens. Smaller greens call for accurate approaches. Course was in good shape.
If you keep the ball in play at all times the condition of the course is pretty good. Rough and beyond is marginal IMO.
A Classic Course!
Such a fun course!
Twists, turns, elevation and postage-stamp greens.
Donald Ross. Enough said.
