Older course that seems to be trying to put back in shape
First time playing here. I played it because it was cheap in the AM and there is a reason for that. it's an older and kinda beat up course. Looks like the owners are attempting to improve it and they have a big job ahead of them. Staff was very cordial and professional and they have the pro shop clean and tidy. The greens had been recently punched so it's hard to judge what they are like. Decent Yamaha gas carts. Fairways are not great with lots of invasive grass throughout, tee boxes not great, traps are poor. Layout was OK but there are just too many issues for me to want to play here again. I would rather pay the extra $20 for better conditions. Maybe in a few years it will be better. Unless you are a hacker who only cares about how cheaply you can play, there are better choices.
1st time at mwc
Fun day of golf ⛳ the bar and grill not open at this time. The greens are fast. All of the golfers we met were very friendly.
I really like the course and the staff was friendly! What really ruined the golf was the very slow play, they really needed a ranger out there to get things moving, it would have taken 6 hrs to play 18 holes had we not kept going around people and skipping holes,.
That wasn’t fun. Only ended up playing 12 holes , and then we left. Some people just have very poor course etiquette.
Course kinda stinks
I wouldn’t play here again. Every tee box slants and is not flat. Makes it impossible to aim off the tee. On top of that, this course is very narrow with difficult, fast greens. Not fun as an amateur. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back
Thank you for leaving your review. Your title “course kinda stinks” is misleading. Tees are not perfect but are far from your description. You said the course layout was poor of which most think it’s one of the best around. It’s fair to say the wind blew really hard Saturday and you played very poor. Our greens are really fast and based on other courses you okay you aren’t used to it. We are sorry that the course is more difficult than those in your rotation.
Improving Day by Day
Overall great course. Greens are excellent, Fairways and tees are very very good. Course continues to improve. Holes #9, 10 and 11 are as tough as any 3 holes in the area. You can't just hit it anywhere on this course and score so bring your A game. Great value for the money.
Top notch
First time playing the course, layout is fantastic, greens were firm and rolled perfect. Back nine starts to get tight, perfect time for the wind to pick up. Will definitely be back. We finished in just over 3 hours
The Greens and The MOC!
After reading some of the other reviews I figured I’d clarify some thing’s. 1. The greens are awesome and rolling about an 11 and are sneaky fast. 2. What are the things you look for in a solid course(good greens, good fairways, and good tees)✅. 3. The Clubhouse and Grill are not open due to covid and trying to protect ALL Members and Guest. 4. They do have food being cooked outside and soda/beer/water is available in the Pro Shop. Finally, if it’s such a bad course why do some of the best golfers in the area call it HOME! Some of theses ratings are a JOKE.
If you like public golf, good greens and a great layout THE MOC is where you need to Play!
Needs work
They are working on it but it still needs alot more. The wind can really affect play, the greens were fast.
OK course but pricier than some in area
I have played this course before. Got a deal on GolfNow or price for playing golf at this course is more than I like to play. Did get rained out so got a raincheck. The Owner is not that friendly.
Avoid
I was shocked at how bad the course was and how run down the facilities were. I read the reviews prior to playing and they were probably written by friends of the owners.
Let’s tell the story. You booked a hot deal for 12:52 and showed up at 11:40 am and we’re told I will check you in for your time at 12:30. You were rude and said you were just going to putt. You don’t need a cart to go putt. I said if you don’t like the rules of playing at the tee time you paid for I’ll contact golf now and get you your money back. Don’t book a time and expect to tee off an hour earlier.
Course Improving
The greens for the most part were in very nice shape. The fairways were average and the tee boxes were hit and miss.
thank you for your review. We had an issue with some of the tees and were expecting to over seed them in the next few weeks. Due to overseed cost we have decided to rebuild and reside some of the weaker tees. As the past three months of wet weather maintenance has been a challenge with all of the rain.
Perfect day
Not crowded/played quick, course is in great condition, staff friendly. Other than donating a couple balls to lakes was perfect day.
Impressed with improvements!
Greens were beautiful, really immaculate for the price range. Fairways were excellent as well. Haven’t played here in a while and the transformation from then to now was impressive. A few of the tee boxes could use some work but were not at all an issue. Definitely worth playing!
Great shape
Haven’t played the course for awhile and it was really improved. Great conditions, friendly staff, new carts and good pace of play.
Interesting/demanding course
Played here today for the first time. I was pretty pleased with the overall condition of the course, the fairways and greens are in good shape and putts rolled true. A couple of tee boxes were in rough shape, but that didn’t cause me any issues. Only complaint would be the rough, especially around the greens have a lot of weeds/mixed grasses making a lot of lies off the fairways a guessing game. Overall, I will play here again, there is a good mix of demanding tee shots with variety of approach shots, and different green complexes. I think I hit every club in my bag during the round.
Best condition yet.
I have always liked the greens and the layout at "The Moc". Now the fairways are also in nice shape.
Thank you for your review. We understand the need for a ranger. Starter, cart guys, waitresses etc. people don’t want to work. They don’t show etc. we try to tell everyone pace of play is most important. Please try to get in and under four hours. Most people play in three hours and 15 minutes up here. We do our best and will continue to try to monitor of the course. Things have been very inconsistent the last year and I’m sure the next time you come back pace of play will be much faster so that you do not have to jump around.
