Tarpon Woods Golf Club
About
Named after the creek that borders it, Tarpon Woods Golf Club is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, alligators, turkeys, coyotes, and otters. The layout is not the Tampa Bay area's most challenging but it is one of the most scenic. Formerly Brooker Creek Golf Club, the club changed management and made several improvements to the bunkers, tee boxes, and greens in 2009. It has been a local favorite for more than 30 years. Overall the golf course is not particularly long but the front nine plays longer than the back. Each nine offers a unique set of challenges. The third hole is the longest and toughest with water that runs down the left side. There is also water on both sides of the approach to the green.

This course was perfect for a group of friends to get together
It was a pleasure, the greens were a little long but for the price the challenge was acceptable.
No good
Average condition and maintainance for the seasons and I enjoy playing the course but I found one thing made me very upset about a girl work at the desk is very not only rude but also has no respect at all. I will never go there again and would. Not Recommend to anybody.

course lay out is good
The course has thin fairway grass and and poor rolling greens. It has 8in holes and 41/2 in holes. the regulation holes do not have a flag.
I also thought your booking fees were excessive
For Beginners Only
Installed new 8 inch holes - putting is rediculous for even the average golfer. You don't even take the stick out. The greens all have issues again - Maintenance and aeration is under way. Stay away until June. Course layout and nature is great.
Fantastic bird life
The course was a in good condition although the greens were slow. It is an attractive course with a large number of unusual birds flying about. Considering I was playing by myself and was following a four ball, the pace of play on the front nine was quite reasonable (about two hours). However, when another golfer joined the group in front at the tenth tee to make a five ball (totally against the etiquette of golf), the back nine was very slow. All in all a course I would like to play again, provided I didn't get stuck behind a five ball group.
Course much improved since last playing
Always a course I play when over on vacation from the UK. Great to see the course has improved since I last played. Greens were in the best condition I have ever seen them. Keep up the good work.
Tarpon Woods
Fairways not too bad some rough spots. Greens however had cutting lumps left on almost all of them. Maybe they need to check the blades on their machine.
Tarpon Woods!
Been a couple of years since playing this course. Today not sure why that was. Conditions OK, fairways good conditions, greens hairy but rolled good. Bunkers easy outs for me. Gerenal rule slight role for a good lie. Course layout requires decent tee balls to score well. Some tough par 4's. Recommend.
Ist time Player
The course was fun to play and will certainly get a return play.
Easy day @ Tarpon woods
The 2015 Valspar PGA tournament was down the street at Innisbrook so this course was a dream to play that day. No waiting and no one behind us. Course was in good shape and the greens were nice.
Etat général du terrain
Manque de gazon à plusieurs endroits surtout dans les fairway . Très peu d'indications pour les distances.très beaux arbres mais le potentiel du décor est mal exploité
Good value
Nice course, good value, would play again. Greens were in better shape than I remembered from a few years ago. Seems better maintained.
Second time a disappointment
No apparent starter to organize tee offs especially customers who were to start at assigned tee times.
Greens and aporns were covered with leaves. We played at 1 pm on a day with little wind yet the greens were scattered with leaves on majority of holes.
Tarpon Woods
Disappointed in course conditions. Some greens were just dirt with very little grass, fairways were burnt out and brown. Staff and food was good.
Taron Woods Challenge
This course has matured nicely over the years. The greens and bunkers have all been redone with the greens being a little thin but surprisingly slow. Fairways and rough could use some additional work but not enough to really affect one's game; just the aesthetics. It has always been and will continue to be a challenge for anyone that has trouble hitting the ball straight. Definitely worth the play, though.
Disappointing Day
I have been playing a number of courses in the Tampa Bay area recently and was hopeful that Tarpon Woods would be an enjoyable experience and nice course. Unfortunately the pace of play was painful Not sure exactly why but it took over 5 hrs to complete 18 holes. The course isn't a bad layout but the fairways were thin and the greens very slow. Not sure I'll be back.
Course is in bad shape. Putting greens need more grass.
Pace was very slow played for 4 20 minutes. Course has a nice layout but needs a lot of work. Putting greens were more sand than grass. I personally would not go back there until they fix the greens. Greens were in poor condition.
course satisfaction
Fairly crowded. Moved a little slower than usual. Overall a great day!
