Legacy Golf Club
About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

A Good Value For A Quick Round
This is a typical resort course and a descent track if you want a quick and affordable round. Not an RTJ and not a low end Muni either. Very flat and scoreable with tall sparse pines lining the fairways. A lot of tees (in good shape) so it can play pretty long or short if you want. Greens were in excellent shape. The layout is basic. Not overly difficult. No holes stood out of the pack. They were neither uniquely authentic nor aethetically memorable. Water plays on almost all holes, mostly along the fairway edge rough. A lot of hidden water so the in cart GPS was very useful and necessary. No drinking water available on the course and although we were told a beverage cart would be available it never showed. They give you about 15 range balls to practice. No woods or drivers allowed. The Cafe is sparse with your basic burger, hot dog and French fries fare with 2 tvs showing sports. Only 1 other person was there. The pro shop is limited too. No orange balls and no ball markers for sale. Plenty of other swag if you want it.
Great shape
The course was in great shape. Greens were perfect a rolled probably 9-10. Fairways also very nice.
My wife and I showed up early and the starter let go out by ourselves since it wasn’t busy.. We went around in 3 hours . I find the 100$ green fee a little pricy . I had a hot deal with Golf Now for 172$ for both of us which made more sense.
Course is nice, wide fairways but some challenging holes.
I thought it was nicer and better maintained than Bay Point. They had number 17 closed for repair, wished they would have told us prior and which hole we could play twice.
Great shape
We’ve been down here on a little get away. Greens were great. The fairways were great. Nothing to say bad about this course except the driving range. Wished you could hit driver and fairway woods. They were were working on #17 so they had us play a hole on their par three course in place of that. But it was fine. Because #17 is a par 3 also. A little pricey but comparable to other courses in this area. Definitely recommend this course.
Fall Weekend Trip
My wife and I drove down for a long weekend golf trip. The greens fairways and roughs were in great shape. The greens rolled true and fast. The staff overall was ok. Nice golf carts with GPS system and very comfortable seats. The downside to playing here is they had no 9 hole replaying price. The driving range was only irons and hybrids. A little pricey but average for this area. But overall Would definitely recommend playing here
Legacy
Course changed names but the same old crabby staff. The starter needs to find something he enjoys, I don't need to play this course and only play once a trip to PCB because it is so overpriced.
We got around number nine and after a 2 hour and 10 minute nine discovered they jammed at least one foursome, maybe more in front of us on number 10 when number one was wide open.
I recommend avoiding this course. There are better courses.
Not worth the price!
The layout of this course is just bad! The blind tee shots because of the lack of land makes the course one that I would not recommend to anyone especially for the price.
Difficult Greens
Greens slope, false front. Everything is great until I got to the green. I have difficulty reading the green. And it shows.
But go ahead and play it. You'll have fun.
Difficult Greens
Good layout. Fun course, plan your drive. Now you're on the green? Nope. False front. Now look at the slope. Yikes, 2 breaks. Fast.
And yes, it was fun.
Our review
We found the course to be more challenging than what it appeared. Par 3’a are pretty long
Pleased with all improvements over the years. Well kept.
Only negative was grille. Food good. Staffed with only 1 person and was overwhelmed when having more than 2 customers .
