One of the biggest greens in Bay Area. I paced it off at 75 yards long!! Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017
A fun but challenging day!
We hadn't played Bridges in a few years and saw a great deal on Golf Now. While the course is challenging it's still a lot of fun. Yes, playing the course a few times and local knowledge will help play it better, they have done a lot to keep it fair. It's in good condition and we played in under 4 hours.
High end Golf Resort feel
Challenging course layout, lots of different lie angles. Greens are tricky breaks down the hill even though it looks like it will break left. 18th hole tempting to go for it, layup best option.
Extremely difficult and too wet
This course takes all the fun out of golf. Probably 90% of the course is rough. The short grass is rare. The rough is extremely punitive. There is no gradation in the rough, you’re either in the short grass or your dead in the rough. I typically don’t spray the ball around and I am usually in the fairway at most courses. The greens are over watered to the point of being ridiculous. It amazes me that this course gets such great reviews. There are many courses in the Eastbay that are vastly superior to this
course. Really the only thing good about this course is the pace of play. There aren’t that many people that want to experience this mess. There is a green on the back nine that is so large it is beyond ludicrous.
Not for beginners. Demands a long, straight tee shot.
Course is too tight and rough is too long if you’re not a straight, consistent hitter. If you finish with the same ball you started with it’s an achievement! Course in great condition, albeit a little overwatered in places today. Greens are quick and pin positions are challenging. Good layout. I paid $44 today which I consider great value.
GREAT F#@% COURSE
This golf course are great the greens are fast the paced of players are also perfect. No one rushing you. No one yelling. Costumer service a great. The only thing that I DON'T like is my game. I cannot believe it? I got Beautiful course and I play so bad.
Thank you!! I'll BE BACK!
Great pace of play
Buddy and I finished in 3.5 hrs. Condition were great. Staff was very friendly.
Bridges Golf Club
Course is very challenging with several sloping fairways. However, the GPS in each golf cart help a lot for first time players in this beautiful golf course.
Excellent all around experience. Great course, excellent condition.
This course is a must try and definitely worth the drive if you don’t live near by.
The condition is 9/10. Fairway, bunkers, and greens are all almost excellent.
The restaurant and bar is very nice too. The food here is great.
Customer service is excellent. Everyone is welcoming.
Excellent value for your money.
Course is challenging but fair. Hit quality shots and you should be rewarded. Pace of play is great
the Bridges is a wonderful test of golf.Had a great time
For an upscale priced course, was surprised very few trash receptacles and ball washer. Previous golfers did not fix their ball marks on the green or repair the fairway when divots made. Some tee boxes were in rough shape as well. Played here before and it seems less maintenance is being done.
This is a challenging course and I have enjoyed it more in the past.
A Go To course to test your skills.
Play here often. Conditions are always good, staff is always pleasant. A good value for what you get.
Hit it straight on this course, crooked shots are punished severely. A good amount of the trouble is not plainly in view so use the GPS to guide you on your first few times out.
The greens are tough as well and usually pretty fast.
"If you can score here...you're a stud!"
Bridges is a great challenge of golf. Hit good shots and you’re rewarded, hit bad ones and you have trouble. The course is in great condition and has some beautiful holes and scenery. Staff is friendly and helpful too!
Great, tough, course
I play on average 6 - 10 times a year at the Bridges and the course is always in great shape. It’s a tough but fair course, in other words your good shots will be rewarded and your bad shots will be penalized. Lots of hazards both off the tee and around the green to contend with. All that said, I keep going back because it is a challenge and very well maintained.
Need help quitting golf? Play here!
Over the years, I've attempted to take breaks from the course and then revisited from time to time in order to give it a fair chance. Unfortunately, things haven't gotten better since my first impression. The layout and the course condition forces the worst out of my (and pretty much everyone I've played with here) game (no rewards essentially for hitting great shots). I've played the "sister" course-Eagle Ridge, and I can't quite explain it, but it's so much better than Bridges. From the hint of sass you get at the pro shop when you need to make minor changes to the inconsistent and discolored greens and worse than US Open rough conditions, it's just so very very difficult to like and enjoy this course. With so many courses in the bay area to consider, this continues to slip back on the list of my preferred list to play. The only good part of the course is how frequent the cart girl comes by to make sure everyone's ok (and to sell you $10 shots of crown). After this visit, tough for me say, but this time may be the very last time I will be back.
*Don't Book a Hot Deal* - unless you are sure you will be on-time
Played on a windy day after the March storms.
No issues with the course - greens and tee boxes in great shape; mud in low spots and bunkers and challenging as always, especially with the wind and pace of play was < 3.5 hrs.
I booked a Hot Deal for 11:30AM and unfortunately, I had an unexpected emergency that caused me to call the pro shop and ask them to reschedule to 2PM when the course was wide open. They courteously responded that they would need to upcharge me to their course rate at 2PM. While I respect a course to charge what they'd like, this has never happened with any other Northern California or Kemper course and it seems to me focus on making a few $ vs. the customer.
The Bridges is great for those Hot Deal buyers who are sure they can keep their tee times but given the daily unexpected personal/professional challenges in my life, I won't be returning any time soon.
