One of the biggest greens in Bay Area. I paced it off at 75 yards long!! Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017
Bridges
No yardage markers other than the 150 stake and on the cart path. Lots of blind holes so if playing for the first time, dont know where to hit. No course layout unless you purchase the yardage book at clubhouse. The staff did not tell us this at check in so assumed hole layouts would be available on the course or prior to each hole. With this type of course, need hole layout and yardage at least on sprinkler heads.
Wanted: Goat herd
Plan on spending an extra hour looking for golf balls in the foot tall grass on the steep hills on the sides of every hole, if you're a 10 handicap or higher. Don't worry about falling behind the pace, because the group ahead of you will be doing the same thing. Amazing course, but they need a bigger lawn mower or a herd of goats.
Let it dry
Bridges is the perineal heavyweight of championship golf in the Bay Area. You will be rewarded for accuracy and penalized for errant shots. Bring a few extra balls. As of 3/8 the course was still very soft with little to no roll and quite a few balls were disappearing in the fairway. The greens were excellent as usual so I’d say in another week without rain and it’ll be in good shape.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us, jrocka510. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting The Bridges Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Rain day
Although course had wet conditions, it was still well maintained. I plan on playing again when the course is dried out and playability is better.
Hello, u186906551. Thank you for visiting us at The Bridges Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Cart path only…
Been wanting to play for some time. Great golf carts with GPS and infotainment. But it was cart path only. Not sure if it’s like this for all season. 2 or 3 holes were under repair and had to play like a short 3 where it was deemed allowed. Over all a difficult course and easily loss balls.
The course did not drain well at all and not kept
There was a lot of standing water. The rough was well overgrown and extremely har to play. Also impossible to find the ball in the rough. We spent a lot of time just looking for the ball and did not find in many cases.
Hole 12 was playing like a par 3, but we were not told this, the green fees are not discounted due to the conditions. This is unacceptable when paying such high green fees.
The greens were thrashed, ball marks were all over the place, nobody has fixed the ball marks and other blemishes for days it seemed.

Unfortunately wet and not currently in it’s best condition
Was hoping the course would have drained better, but you can see they had staff working on the course. Still has a nice layout that could be challenging. Will come back once the weather and conditions are better.
Thanks so much for the great review, E46SC3. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing The Bridges Golf Club.
Challenging and fun Course
I played with on and off light rain, not too many players on the course. Pace of play was great and I got to hit couple extra shots when I messed up :(
Course held up reasonable well in such a rainy day, especially green. It was cart path only, which made sense, I did added many more walking steps. Course layout was pretty difficult and interesting, you only get carry distance on a wet course. All in all I did enjoy my round.
Hello, Youngxie. Thanks so much for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your round at The Bridges Golf Club. That's what we like to hear! We hope to see you again soon!
Doesn't Drain Well After Mild Rain
Great course, challenging layout for mid to high handicappers. Lost two drives that for certain were in the fairway and guessing they plugged in the mud.
Hello guyblume. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating! We really appreciate your business. Please let us know what we can do for you in the future to earn that last star and thanks for choosing The Bridges Golf Club!
First time golfing in the rain
It started pouring down after the 12th hole. We played through to the 14th and it was a legit monsoon and temps dropped 10 degrees. We were wet and frigid and decided to press fast-forward and go straight to the 18th and call it a day
The course held up really well considering the weather. Drainage is 100%! Staff was super friendly and the 19th hole is not to be missed. Really nice place and will be back when the weather is better.
bryangolk, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing The Bridges Golf Club.
Who runs this place ?
Too much to say, but let’s start with:
-the course does not drain well. It rained 4 days before our round and it was a disaster.
- cart path only - fine, but NO PUSH CARTS? What kind of idiocy is this?
- we had a single added to our group. He was on the tee 20min early and - since it was so wet - there were no groups 3 ahead of us or 3 behind, but they wouldn’t let the poor guy go early! “We have to keep the groups together” said the starter. So I get to the box 8 min ahead of tee time to hit some putts, and the starter hurries ME because the other guy had been waiting. What the????
You guys have some issues at the box and with your rules. As the only group out in an hour span, one would think you’d be a little more kind. Not today.

2 par 4s changed to par 3s
Bad experience overall. Fairway felt like rough. Rough felt like deep rough. Uneven Tee Boxes for over 12 holes. 2 par 4s closed and forced to play as par 3s with the deep rough as the tee boxes.
Great course but tough!
The playing experience was fantastic. I'm surprised the condition of the course was still so good despite two consecutive days of heavy rain. It was definitely soft and the rough was very "grabby" and tough to cut out of, but this wasn't entirely a bad thing. If you don't keep the ball left on most holes, you'll end up with a lost ball down the little ravine - slicers beware! The softness prevented about 5 of my great drives from being a disaster with too much roll into the ravine.
Great variation in the challenges to tackle on each hole, truly interesting layout (really no "bad" holes,) fantastic elevation changes and a handful of real "target golf" holes; this course really is a delight and a challenge for even an experienced, low-handicap golfer (and almost certainly insanely difficult under dry summer conditions.)
The only hiccup in my experience was the service or, perhaps more accurately, the atmosphere of the experience. I realize it's in San Ramon, but - although the staff was perfectly polite - I feel like some of the rules were more at home at a private country club than a public course (one example was "no cart until 20 minutes before the round," despite having a plethora of carts available making it a pain to be follow my typical warm-up routine.) It just didn't really come off as a welcoming experience - especially when I said this was my first time here and really got no guidance on where the various practice areas were, where the first tee was, nada. I play a LOT of golf and - if I come back here again - it will be for the course and in spite of my experience.

Super tough course but solid conditions in rain
Brutal test of golf, possibly a bit easier in wet conditions though… drained well during the day. Still best to bring extra balls, it’s just so difficult to not lose them!
Decent conditions for rainy round
round started with sun and only a few areas with saturated ground, the course seemed to drain pretty well considering recent rain. We got dumped on for a few stretches but overall the greens rolled true and we didn't notice a drastic change in speed. Still one of the most difficult tests of golf in the bay area, bring lots of balls, you will lose all of them unless you're hitting em dead straight. I suppose with wet conditions it could help and play a bit easier since the ball stops more quickly. Fairways in good condition, some tee boxes were a bit wonky with uneven ground but overall totally fine.
