Great Course -- Great Bar
Pompano Beach Municipal is a great course. Organized, convenient, etc. Best part though is dinner at onsite restaurant Galuppi's. Happy hour from 5-7., music and nightly specials such as $11.99 strip steak cooked perfectly, or large Ahi Tuna plate. Friendly people at the bar, just lots of fun!
Challenging Layout
First timer here from the Toronto area. I’m a 5 hdcp. Sunny day and the golf was very enjoyable as I meet a few fun players to play with. Always tougher playing when not knowing the layout. Greens were a bit rough, but Palms course layout was a good 7/10. Playing again in a few days, so see how I attack the course. Shot a few over my average in the 70s, so will try to clean up. Great HotDeal through GolfNow!
Always fun
When are u getting the Pines back on GolfNow the course is open
Course is under construction
So we showed up and they had us play the first hole on one course then switch over to the next course. The course is clearly under a lot of construction and not worth the money at this time.
Pompano Palms
This is the second time I played at Pompano. I was with 2 other people, so we had a very nice gentleman join us. The course is in need of some care. It seems that Pompano put all their money and attention on the Pines. The Palms are on their way down. Greens need help. Its a shame too, since there are more courses closing i Broward county. Golfers will go elsewhere.
First and last round at this course
Our twosome arrived early and we were able to get out on the course 15 mins. prior to our start time. We immediately caught up to the groups ahead and at the turn on the 10th hole, a foursome was about to tee off in front of us who had not been playing in front of us. We contacted the starter and pro shop and were told that they "probably" had been in having lunch and decided to continue their round at their leisure. Further along, we spoke with a course ranger/marshal and again nothing was done and what should have been an easy 3.5 hour round turned into a 4.5 hour round.
Great golf now saving
My first time here was nice all in all some greens were a little touched up with sand mixture in some areas overall great.
Long course. Difficult for seniors. Challenging layout. (Should have used senior tees)
Good value
Nice layout, not the longest course. Have to figure in the winds. Pace of play was ok and will get slower during the winter months but we played in under 4 hours. You can walk this course but not their other one. Greens were ok fairways as well.
Great course designgreens not very playable(palms )
I played with 2 nice people and that compensated the bad course conditions of the front 9,little bettet the back 9,I was ecpecting more this course.
Really Good Round
Just a great round. let 3 women play thru & had no one else behind us. Very warm but had a great breeze too keep it cool,
A warm round of golf
Had a great round playing with our daughter & son in law. We are down here from Mich. on vacation.
Wait for the greens to come back.
The tee boxes, fairways were in good shape. The problem was just about all the greens on the Pines course. There
were only about 4-5 that were just ok. It was very disappointing to see this course like that. I've played the Pines
several times before and it in great shape then. Hoping it gets in better shape in the winter months.
used to be a lot better
gps control on golf cart restrist movement and forces you to get off the cart and walk to get to your ball ,not a lot of fun
Course OK, Restaurant Great
Greg Norman-designed track is a pleasant, non-threatening layout with thinnish, mostly wide fairways and a few water hazards on the second side. Fairways were often pocked by bare, brown spots, but the rough was in good shape, as were the bunkers that had been raked over. The greens had been aerated on June 19, but rolled fairly well. No's 6 and 7 were unputtable, due to sanding. I picked up a playing partner from Ohio and we motored around the course, before a slight logjam at No. 16. Beverage cart service by Jiules was superb as was my post-round, New York strip at Galuppi"s, a neat eatery with a large outdoor bar with a splendid view of the course and a smaller indoor bar that is worth a stop on its own merit. The $23 Hot Deal will be worth the price once the greens heal up.
