Walking only
Although we reserved a tee time 2 days earlier, when we arrived at the course we were told for the first time that it was walking only. And they had no pull carts for rent. So we could not play. Very disappointing!
Worst course ever!
Wow!!! I’ve play a lot of courses in my day but this was the worst by far. The layout was terrible. 1st hole is a 400 yard Par 5. The second hole is a 400 yard Par 4. Both dog legs. I don’t understand. The condition of the course is the worst I’ve seen. The fairways were covered in weeds or bare sand spots. The greens were like putting on shag carpet. Don’t waste your money and time.
New greens good, but fairways need some work
Played the Pines last spring they closed the course and remade the greens, which are in great shape, fairways need some help they are thin in spots, a few bare spots with sand. The course is fairly wide open not a lot of water hazards, medium degree of difficulty. It’s the closed course to my home, when I don’t feeling like fighting traffic to play in western Broward or Palm Beach County , I’ll play at Pompano Beach. Played 18 with 2 other gents in about 3.5 hours, teed off at 11:30am on a Thursday.
The Palms
We had an 8:20 tee time and had to wait about 20 minutes to spree off. It took the first nine holes to even out. I think that there was a slow foursome that was backing us up.
Other than that it was an enjoyable round.
The course was in decent shape but the greens could use some work.
Even with this no glowing review I would play there again. The staff was friendly and there is a great open air bar/restaurant overlooking the course.
What happened?!?!
We’ve played this course many times over the years. It was always a “go to” course. We were unbelievably dissapointed. There were very few fairways that had grass! However the greens were in beautiful shape. We played the course in 3 1/2 hours but started in the pouring rain so there were many no shows. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back (this year at least).
Pretty rough
Spend a few more dollars... That was my thought the entire time playing it.
Great greens
The fairways were worn and while in the fairway there were areas that had no grass. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled true.
The Pines
Course was in great shape, after recently being renovated, greens ran decent fairways in good shape, a lil over priced
I’ve now played the Palms and Pines. Palms course is cheaper and easier to get a tee time but the Pines course is worth the money and having to book a tee time about a week in advance. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good condition. Would recommend and okay again. Also pretty cool that you can see the Goodyear Blimp as well as planes taking off and landing during your round.
Pompano Pines golf course
Played on January 9 and was happy with the condition of the new greens. There are not fast fast but in good condition. Played here last year and was disappointed with the greens but I was looking forward to new greens.
The course is a good layout, user friendly and enjoyable. Don’t expect championship level but it is enjoyable.
