Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club

Stopped through on my way to Alabama and really enjoyed the course. It was tough but in good condition. Definitely worth checking out, especially with the hot time price

Enjoyed my time at Crystal lake. First time playing and will return. Played during a weekday afternoon without much of a crowd. Not sure how it is on the weekend, I assume much busier. Makes sense it would be busier bc it’s a well maintained and fun track. Looking forward to visiting again.

Nice gem 35 mins south of the city. The course is generally well maintained, the layout is challenging, and the greens roll fast and true.

We have played CL probably 20 times in the last 5 years. The course is excellent. Challenging holes and everything is in good shape. However, when we showed up on Saturday, 6/3/23, we learned that our tee times (we had 6 guys-2 3somes) would be delayed over an hour. Apparently someone booked a tournament on a Saturday. There were no carts. The excuse given was “well, they are slow to come in.” It was an absolute disaster. At one point, 6 groups were waiting on #1 to tee off. The starter allowed the 140pm group to go ahead of us even though we had the 120 and 130 times. Apparently, someone in the 140 group works at CL So not only did they jump the line, they also got our carts and the marshal and outside staff did nothing about it. The gentleman inside the shop was super nice and apologetic when we checked in and gave us free range balls, and Kellyn the bev cart girl was super friendly, but this is not how you treat guests who spent over $500 at your club. We were disrespected, disregarded, and taken advantage of by the outside staff. We ended up going off 75 minutes late. The pace of play took over 5 hours. We ended up not leaving until almost 8pm after booking times at 120&130pm. Such a disappointment. Take your time and money elsewhere.

Went as a solo on Sunday morning around 11, was able to hit some practice shots on the range and go out as a solo, had no issues at all with pace and no one behind/in front of me for almost every hole. Amenity cart came around 3 times. Course layout is amazing, and the scenery is awesome. Drive from Midtown is easy with 75. Will be back every weekend I am available.

Pace of play was HORRENDOUS. I wish they would just send a ranger to put the spurs to it for gods sake. I had to leave after hole 16 because it had already been 4:40 minutes and that's all the time I had.

Aside from that the course was in decent shape. Greens were great, fairways were just ok.

The course was slow and marshal/starter never drives around and finds bottle necks. This is done at most courses except this one. It’s a basic customer service that should done. The customer expects it. The course was very muddy. Every time you hit the ball, the fairway or rough, you have mud all over the ball. Hole 16 is unplayable. The whole fairway is mud. The hole needs to be redone. There was no cart beverage person driving around, most courses do that. The customer expects it. Tee boxes were just sand. Tee boxes should be over seeded with rye so player is not hitting off a sand box. Most courses do this and the customer expects it. The new greens and sand traps were looked nice. The greens were slow and bumpy. The course has improved since last year but still has a way to go. The course is always busy so should be nicer than it is. Members should demand a better course for what they pay for.

Coarse is in great shape for January. Love this course and the hot deal made it even better.

I’m from Florida but was visiting for the weekend. This place was amazing for the price I paid. Great conditions, the layout was enjoyable and once the temperature heated up made for a phenomenal day. Only issue might have been pace of play but it was a pack Saturday round and as a single I was happily welcomed to play through many times so I really should not complain. Highly recommend.

Played all of the clubcorp courses lately as a buddy is a member in PTC and course was just as good. For the price point can’t beat it. Was my hc growing up and happy to see that it has returned to shape.

Played this course numerous times. Never had a bad experience. One of my favorite places to play.

Course is in very good condition, needs work on cart paths. Also should reduce green fees. I recommend you go there to play golf.
